As it sometimes happens, a movie with an unlikely story once again hit on BitTorrent, with its director hoping that all those illegal downloads result in some cool sales.
No one will be surprised to learn that such movies as “TRON Legacy”, “The Fighter”, or “Source Code” are currently riding high on BitTorrent networks all over the world. However, sometimes a movie emerges that shocks, and now it is “Hobo with a Shotgun” by Jason Eisener.
The film was originally a fake trailer played along with the Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino hit Grindhouse. The trailer has finally won the South by Southwest Grindhouse trailers contest, which should mean something for the movie featuring the killing of everyone from cops to Santa Claus. In a while the trailer developed further into a full-length film and was officially released on VOD at the start of April, and then unofficially dubbed in the Internet a few days ago. Surprisingly enough, since then the movie is been riding high on a BitTorrent wave, somehow managing to enter the Top 100 movies on The Pirate Bay, and not just somewhere at the bottom, but taking the 13th line there.
Meanwhile, day by day the popularity of “Hobo with a Shotgun” on IMDb is increasing rapidly, largely thanks to Internet users reviewing the unofficial copy of the film. Comments leave no doubt that people love the video, but the leak came as a disappointment to the movie’s director Jason Eisener. He published a post saying that it hurt to hear that people were illegally downloading his movie, especially when seeing torrent seeding more than 7,500 downloads. The director admitted he realized that this day would come, but didn’t expect it would shank him up that much. However, as soon as Eisener realized that there’s nothing he could do about that, he headed over to The Pirate Bay to ask it to do something after all.
The post published by him on the site pleaded the TPB users not to steal his movie, explaining that all the crew were working for free to create the film and if no one would pay for it, their career is over. However, after this post solicited some angry comments, Eisener changed his position to a bit more pragmatic, saying that it’s great that people liked the movie and asked them at least help him with publicity and spread the word about the official release.
That seems to be a wiser approach to the problem then epidemic pursuing of everyone. We’ll see who would make the most money, then.

Interesting article,Í didn't know that he had post comment to that movie. The movie is a bit like Machete.
Thanks by the way for the article
This is a perfect opportunity for the P2P nation to step in and help a guy out if you like it then buy it. I use P2P to preview movies myself, but I do buy hard copies of the ones I like. Change world opinion is the only way we can even win this battle. Look at all the free publicity this guy will shell out if you support him.

I think you'll find the real reason people won't buy the hard copy is that it is laced with annoyances. Examples, pointless FBI warnings, unskipable averts/trailers and the biggest shaft:- Region locking. In the global internet age why are disks region locked? I can't play half of my disks because of this. Solution: I'll stick to downloads, just press play. Maybe Studios should enable people to donate without buying the shinny coaster?

I am aware of that. How do you unlock a PS3? And how does unlocking the player help with the unskipable nonsense and Shit form the FBI? Yes I can defeat all that crap by ripping the DVD or I can just download the movie with zero effort.
Ill probably snatch the DVD,I really enjoyed the film.
Hobo with a shotgun is new and already a classic!

|I think more movie producers et al need to look on the torrent using community as a source of goodwill rather than the enemy.||
