Again, all is not well in the US, as Obama seems believing that hackers are causing too much damage. According to media reports, the Obama administration wants teen hackers treated like gangsters.
Obama administration believes that the maximum sentences for hacks have already failed to keep pace with the severity of the actions. They say that hackers are usually members of different sophisticated criminal networks, so they would dispute the claim that hacking can be committed by a lone teen doing that for fun. They also claimed that Secret Service investigations have revealed that complex and sophisticated electronic crimes are almost never committed by a lone individual.
Strangely enough, most of the media reports, telling the stories of the arrests that have occurred recently, involve teens working from their basements. However, Obama administration insists that Internet criminals always organize in networks. Moreover, they are sure that such networks have defined roles for participants to be able to perpetuate ongoing criminal enterprises aimed at stealing commercial information and selling it for profit.
However, if you remember the latest events in the hacking field, you will understand this position doesn’t work for the largest and most public hacker team – Anonymous. This one has no leaders and doesn’t seem making any cash from its hacks at all. This position also doesn’t deal with such cases as that of a British UFO hacker Gary McKinnon, who broke into the US defence network when searching for proof of aliens.
The members of Obama administration who insist on toughening the cybercrime law recently appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee in order to discuss stricter penalties for hacks as it updates the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. They seem to believe that the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act needs to be updated in order to make Computer Fraud and Abuse Act offenses subject to its terms. In other words, they suggest to stick Anonymous in the same league as the Mafia, which means that teen hackers could get sentences of millions years long. Meanwhile, Obama administration told the committee that cybercrimes have increasingly become a tool of choice for such crimes as identity theft, extortion and corporate espionage.

if the hackers are consistantly getting round the security, rather than punish them, sack the current security "expert" amd give the hacker a job. let him close all the holes in the security, rather than sending them to prison, makes sense really if you think about it
Thanks for the info SaM, brill news as usual

@ danny226 i disagree what is there to really think about? it should just be done.i know if i owned a company i would make it a priority to have the best hacker if im loosing so much money.....but i dont think this is the case at all..the companies arent crying out too much..but they are trying to get more people to be greedy so they have more people to help them fight for the ultimate global controll.it all comes in steps and they will take what they can get slowly eating away at our shores............
Should America also start releasing Murderers from prisons and shipping them overseas to kill on their behalf?
If these hackers want jobs prehaps they could start submiting resumes and filling out job applications!

No, we just need SAM to come testify at a Senate hearing and explain how the MPAA falsifys its data, how they can't possibly know who is using a given IP at a given moment and why is the 86 year old grandma in FBI custody for downloading season 1 of the Golden Girls a security risk?
obama was most likely a gangster himself, so who is he trying to fool
