|Microsoft has made Windows 8 Developer Preview available for download at Click here for free win 8 in either 32/86 bits or 64 bits. But so far only to the traditional X86 processors.
but Before you format your whole machine and sit back with Windows 8 on the screen
its worth remembering that this is called a Developer Preview.
Developer Preview particularly interesting, because in the package, Microsoft has placed development tools that let you program the apps to the new Metro-interface.but its only important if you are developers.there is still a long way to go before we see the finish product.a good idea is to install Windows 8 on a separate hard drive or partition if you have important stuff on your PC
over 500.000 downloaded windows 8 at the moment

I ve DL, burned to disc & tried to install but won`t let me install until I have drivers for CD/DVD drive. The CD/DVD drive in question uses C:/Windows/system32/drivers/cdrom.sys as it driver. Tried to use this but to no avail, so I gave up. Any suggestions.

microsoft allways rely on the test results from beta users but never REWARDS
I can't really create a solution for it till RC (Release candidate), RTM (Release to manufacturer) so why bother if you'll need a working solution to use it?

if you read the terms and conditions when you install it, it says it will cease to be active 4th march 2012, therefore i assume thats the release date or close to it, i installed fine no problems, no too sure about the "metro" style, i prefer the start menu on xp anyway, but its lightning fast nice easy 2 click install, and takes about 25 mins to install, i think there heading in the right direction but are aiming this at touchscreen more than proper keyboards n mice
cheers for this taker

Sure hope Microsoft isn't totally headed in the touchscreen direction. I'm all for progress, but in increments, not forced. People love choice. Just look at how long xp has hung around. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
so soon already? was 7 so bad that they had to make 8 already?
maybe they should have made a new XP but one that you can get taskmanager or somehow kill things that make it hang instead of trying for 5 minutes.
im glad Microsoft is trying to make Better Products. But really, Dont take a Apple move. Design for all, Refine for Consumers, Use for life.
Touch Screens are a pain for Everyone. They simplify the amount of required items. But take up excess space, Increase Errors by 80% and increase latent typing.
Not to mention the Affordability part. The only things that have touch screens that are in most consumers price ranges are Tablets and Smartphone/PDA's.
Rule of Thumb: Dont Hammer off youre own 2 fingers with a mallet, when you have chewed the rest away with bad Decisions.
Youre Bussiness model should NEVER include the words "We Think", but always have "you wanted"

I have a Mac, so i run this on VMware Fusion and works perfectly. Pretty cool!
I am going to stick with windows 7 64-bit for several years to come. If it aint broke dont fix it. I thought windows 8 was being made for tablets?
