After becoming the fastest Billion maker, “Avatar”, the most expensive movie, is now on the headlines on front pages of newspaper again, but this time, making a different news that’s criticism over it. The criticizing topic that a small group of people aroused that it contains racist themes. This time, its highlighted with criticism for being “a fantasy about race told from the point of view of white people”.
The film was loved and had an grand opening in the box office three weeks ago. The theaters were found houseful for many days and even some of them are still making loads of money and attention. Whole lotta excitement is being created in the internet world and everywhere. According to James Cameron, the film writer and director, the real theme is about respecting others differences. The Film is an obvious metaphor for how European settlers in America wiped out the Indians, he added.
Moreover, Robinne Lee, an Actress, said that “AVATAR” was “beautiful” and the film reminded her of Hollywood’s “Pocahontas” – “the Indian woman leads the white man into wilderness, and he learns the way of the people and becomes the savious. It’s really upsetting in many ways. It would be nice if we could save ourselves.”
Everybody loved the movie in their own ways because of its extra ordinary story and the world that’s being shown in the film by James Cameron and making us aware of his extra ordinary thinking and his 15 years of work. The Na’vi characteristics shown by him with such a beauty is really appreciating and everybody should do hats off to him and the crew who made this movie a grand success grasping people’s attention and a huge opening in such a small period of time. Then y these bunch of groups are making such statements and spreading such criticism that its based on racist themes and all. I mean, WTF they have in their minds about the movie. Grow up guys, you gotta learn something.
INTERVIEW With SaM & ZOR4N regarding the same. (I would love to have an interview with Obscene but invain)
First I caught SaM, he said
It actually seems that jealousy is ruling our civilization more than ever….
We just can’t be happy or share our counterparts success.
Everything has to be competition, who is better and what is wrong…
To the extent that movies are being investigated and pinpointed at.
In the process of attack and defense we have been digging into spheres that require none.
People, wake up!
Movies in the first place are made for ENTERTAINMENT, can’t we just do that?
Be entertained and do not use the brain (extensively and unnecessarily) to locate and find inexistent nuclear ideas!
Oh come on its just a movie and not religious, racial or a nation theme!
Enjoy it for the sake of crystal entertainment!
Then ZOR4N, he said
Haha, I could have bet that it started from some reverse racist group who wanted to get back at the lack guy who made the biggest hit of the year. This movie was well thought through and it's one of the best visual achievement of the last few years. The story has been planned for more than that so I doubt that it originated from the idea to humiliate minorities or remind others of the horrors that native people experienced in the past. I must add maybe it originated from the idea of those times but not to remind but to show people how all those things can be overcome in the future and that the world is an everchanging place full of life that has to be respected. So my response to the thoughts of the critics is that they really just want to find anything in the movies that can be foul mouthed and something that could steal the joy off of people's faces when they see a huge movie, in every meaning of the word huge.
So I don't like Avatar more nor less, I just respect the ideas they have shown, the cast that was involved, the effects and hard work of the technicians and years of involvement on the part of the director James Cameron. The movie was worth every penny it made and still makes in the cinemas, that can't be denied by no one not even a critic or a man that has no better way to spend his time than just thinking about a movie until he finds one ray of hope that maybe James Cameron is not as bright as he is.If we would all think like that legendary movies would not exist and many tragic or romantic tales would have never been heard. Think about it people. Thanks EMU for asking about my opinion.
The word Avatara in Hinduism is derived from Sanskrit which means “descent” or “incarnation”.
It’s all about the deities (hindus have a load) who are reborn among different civilizations to help fight injustice or the devil himself.
An avatar’s aim is to bring peace, restore righteousness to its social and in the aftereffect the cosmic rule.
Thanks to ZOR4N & SaM
for giving me some time from your precious ones and helping me for cherishing the article.

this movie is no different then 200 other movies with the same story line...the same story line that has played out since the dawn of man...person wants something, goes and tries to take it/conquer it..I myself thought after seeing it that it was way over hyped. half the movie you can sleep through, wake up and know whats going on...LOL I give it a whole 5/10 rating...the grfx were not even overly impressive..D9 and 2012 owned this movie grfx wise. so what did they waste all the money on making this super semi-flop of a movie? LOL

Thanks so much for the article EMUworld - it is a hot topic at present. It's on the media and everywhere. I tend to think that the people who see this negativity in such a beautiful thing are usually the ones who are the racists. (or whatever the gripe is) What Avatar meant to me was more along the lines that humans tend to ruin what we can't understand, control, or have empathy with. I am still "moved" when I think about the scene where the armed forces blew up the treehouse. It reminds me so much about what humans have done in the forests of South America and parts of the Pacific. We have destroyed so much without regard to its potential to help us. What have we lost by simple greed in place of understanding and respect? We will never know because we blundered in there with only one thought and that is "how much money it will make us!" And before anyone accuses me of being a greenie and against comercialism - I AM NOT! I just think we need to have more balance that's all! Avatar is a brilliant movie for so much more than its magnificent effects, brilliant acting and storyline. I believe it is another Cameron classic in the making. Dare I say it - It Will Go On!

Well maybe they shoulda took that 500 million dollars and helped feed some homeless people or abused children, or military vets, or injured military members and families..if your saying it took 10 yrs and 500 million dollars to make the "perfect movie" I think a lot of people have their priorities in the wrong places ;) there is no way to make a bigger statement to mankind then to actually help it :) not to make a fregging movie about jungle smurfs vs mech warriors..LOL...all this movie is was just a rip off of countless movies be4 it with some comptuer grfx added to it...whoopie doo...I was expecting to see a fresh new movie...not some crap that looked like video game movie segments. ;) to each their own i suppose...
Interesting post EMU
Why can't people watch the film as its meant to be, this is probably the least film i thought that apparently contains racist scenes, or views.
Anyways my 2 kids loved the film to bits, and i did to......
If you really wanted to compare it does reflect how way the indians were treated when outsiders came to there land and took it by force. Only in the movie the indians win. Well great movie and don't see the whole racism thing.

not enough problems in the world already...need to cause some un-needed drama from a stupid f-n movie..LOL thats the problem in the world today....nobody is happy unless shyt is in a state of confusion and dysfunction...long live the jerry springer era of humanity...
there will always be a small minority who have militant views that turn what is a piece of entertainment into a racist/sexist/exploitist thing in their view resident evil 5 got a lot of flack for being racist because the large majority of antagonists were black or asian. Aside from the fact this is a game that was set in africa which the large majority of the population are black, i think that some people tend to forget not all of us have some underlying evil intention in the things we do and some of us just want to entertain the world and as far as the movie i haven t seen it but from the plot i gather its actually about a man seeing the wrong in bullying civilisations that are less advanced than us and isn t that an anti racist message. to those those who think that the big bad white man is out to get you in everything he does, get over it i know this might shock you but we all just want a quiet life and couldn't give a shit if your black white or bright yellow polka dots

american history x, mississippi burning,a time to kill etc etc....these are films (and gr8 1's) with REAL racial undertones ,and quite rightly so,avatar is a big budget no brainer that is meant to entertain and excite.
overly right wing do -gooders try to find problems when theyre really arent any, embrace the technology and where its taking us opposed to defending a race of people that dont and never will exsist, except for in big jims head
And this film is racist towards what race? I saw a whole lot(I mean ALOT!!!) of blue people (Avatar-Americans) and not a single white guy in the [email protected] thing. But, I'm not gonna cry bout it. Is this really what people are wasting their time on, trying to find racist plots in animated movies??? Take it to Jerry Springer like Souless said. If you don't like the film, take a note from American History X and "Bite the f*ckin' curb!!"

Thanks EMUworld, I just copied and pasted from the last Avatar article. I still think it applies.
Thanks for the read Obs, OK so it is Dances with Wolves, Cowboys and Indians, save the rain-forest,
Stop the war, Save the planet. What is wrong with that? Great Movie, Great morals, Great CGI, Great 3D, I have no problem with that at all. Remember if you download when it is available in Blue-ray and DVD you can also stop the use of unwanted plastic wrap.

Well, all I have to say is after reading this comment I wanted to see exactly what they were saying so I went and surfed the web. Hell, Jesse Jackson has finally gone OFF the DEEP end of the world. If this movie is racist then why do the Na-vi win?????? I thought being racist meant putting down a minority??????? Racists make a minority out to be stupid, inferior and any other negative trait they can apply. WHERE in Avatar were the Na'vi made to look stupid or inferior or negative in anyway. They might have been "savages" transfered a brain from one body to another not just remote control but permanent. Therefore, quite the opposite is true. I have read where people are actually going to their doctors all depressed because they can't be avatar's (okay that's weird but proves the Na'vi as depicted are not a negative thing) So if anyone see's their race in the Na'vi and reads their story into the plight of these people then they should be PROUD!! The Na'vi won, even though it was at the great cost of lives and their home tree. They beat the white, black, red, yellow, brown and tan people of earth! Blue RULES! This is a moral lesson wrapped in GREAT STORY and AWESOME FX and the moral is....CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER AND GET ALONG?

Hello Family! That was a good article and I totally enjoyed the movie and I got the message and hopefully everyone who watches this movie gets the message as well. If we keep going the way we're going we won't have a planet and if we keep treating one another the way we have been especially here in the USA we will end up extinct.
This movie reminded me of how many people in the world were once one with it and the universes, which we are, and somewhere we've lost our step. The Na'vi are todays people of Iraq and Afghanistan. Millions of innocent lives lost over a natural resource that we will soon find out is pretty much all used up. We will have to come together as human beings if not by our own volition then by attrition in order to survive in a country that is about to go under due to greed and arrogance.
Lets face it people, greed has brought us to the brink of destruction in the USA. We are at the precipice and it is time for us to change and rebuild and yes, get along. Racism and greed has always been a very effective tool for keeping Americans divided. The movie was entertaining and also a subliminal message telling us all that we have to stop the greedy and the powerful from destroying our country, our planet and it's inhabitants.

Great movie even the promo's on how it was made were brilliant. Racist, quite possibly, however, what i did pick up on was the Colonial aspect of the movie, white invader, attempts to takes control of native population to exploit the land of all its resources and not putting anything back. Holds little to no respect for the aboriginal religion, culture or its laws.
I would recommend this movie just on the way it stands but also an education of what the British, Dutch, French, Spanish and Portuguese started all those centuries ago.
just reading over some of the comments.....thanks for the article guys ;> .
just wondering if Souless rates this 5/10, what would your 10/10 movie for a action/adventure be....Judge Dredd? lol ;>
anyhow really enjoyed the movie, id give it atleast a 8/10 .
souless im with you 100% on that ..there are way more important things that someone with 500 mill could do to better humanity than make a movie. and i mean why dump 500 mill into a movie anyways in this day and age ..people do not realize just how close we are to the end of existence ...back in the 70's they called it an energy crisis they said we relied to heavily on petroleum's for everyday things like plastics and fuels etc..then they tossed it aside and looked for alternatives.. now here it is 40 years later and once the oil is gone we either become cavemen again (which i wouldnt mind)and go back to re-evolving to try and live on a planet we've drained of most it's natural resources..BUT LONG LIVE AVATAR!!!...WAY TO GO JC (not jesus)!!!!

Thanks for the article...and wow what a sad world we live in when a movie is attacked for being racist towards minorities, when infact, it is clearly about a persons journey from ignorance of a different culture to the realization and understanding and becoming one with the N'avi. I'm quite surprised these people shouting Racism can even see the movie since their heads are lodged so far up their own asses. Add the 3-d glasses to that and I guess you get a whole new perception of this movie.
avatar was a great movie.thoses ppl who talk race talk in movies is the same ppl who have the world in a crisis 2day..why dont you ppl go look 4 something to do...like put yuh hand in yuh mouth an bite it off

There is a name for people who impose their view upon that of the author, director, artist, et al. Such people are called critics. There are other words, but "critic" won't get me yelled at by the ghost of my father (motto: if you can't describe it without profanity you are either lazy or lacking an adequate vocabulary").
Yes, Roger Zelazney did the whole Dark Side of Avatars and Aspects thing in "Lord of Light". Yes, Spider Robinson "borrowed" the thing (with passing credit) to power the Deus ex Machina for the transition of his "Callahan's" series. Yes, the film in question started out life as a smurf flick (possibly live action) if that makes you happy. Personally, I found the "Avatar is a stealthy, albeit obvious, transplant of 'The Jazz Singer' [the original] into a new genre" thing by a local public radio to at least have the charm of mild originality.
But none of them add up to a handful of dehydrated lizard sputum. You liked the film, or you did not. Great film results from great storytelling. Without the story, you can get people to come into the theater once, but don't anticipate a return visit. A huge marketing budget and all the cable "celebrity news" promos will only draw the easily impressed, and, while there may be more of them, the majority don't go into theaters. When you look around the theater and see little flashing lights as they text their friends with the equivalent of "only recommend to the people you hate!" it is time to kill your ad guy and move to the next project.
Back when I was involved with things that attracted critics, I learned to ignore them. If you have any level of confidence in your own ability to differentiate art from dreck, you don't need to be told why something is good. If you are that intellectually deficient, then thank you for giving an army of critics and similar parasites a meaningful income. Even the least deserving amongst us should be able to find employment. Look at Sarah Palin. Where would she be if Rupert Murdoch hadn't given her a job at Fox News? Still a voluntarily unemployed former politician with poor language and social skills.

If we look hard enough we see what we want to see, such is human nature, tis a pity that a great film has to succumb to a small group of people who are jelouse of others acheivments, i thought that Avatar was a great film and should be seen as just that A film somthing to entertain us one mans vision realized .....so sad
Souless is right. Lame copy of 200 other movies. But to call it racist is hilarious. There are dozens of movies where aliens clash with humans over resources. The 3D effect sounds cool, but I watched it at home. I turned it off half way through because it seems like a little kid movie. I could not suspend my disbelief. I mean, why do you need an avatar if the planet's inhabitants already know you're from outer-space? They only brought 1 gun to the planet, a gun thats completely harmless? The avatar can be controlled remotely, but they don't know where it is? I could go on, instead I just move this file to trash.
Why can't people just enjoy movies for what they are? it's "Entertainment" and some people just trying to make a buck. If people think there is a hidden agenda in the movie just don't watch it. jeez. you could actually say it was about african americans, tall, athletic, noticed how they were playing basketball in one of the first scenes you see them, white people were coming in to take over a group of people to make them slaves or eradicate the whole race. This is James cameron, how many African Americans have you seen in any of his movies, think about it.

Reminded me of Ferngully though I've not seen that movie in a very long time.
Racism? kids movies usually contain moral agenda. Impressive graphics? If you like video games. The most expensive movie ever made? Well I never would have known. Since when does drawing an explosion cost more than a real one? No offense to those that loved this movie... I just don't see what the hype is about or why anyone cares if it tries to program morality into your ten year old.

Hi all, first of all, there is no "just a movie". Each movie is a product of our own society-culture, in all movies whatever the genre, is a partial view of the reality by the maker. And every movie can be used to propaganda. In my opinion this movie is accesible of critics in other aspects. In the begining of the movie, when the coronel talks to the soldiers, he said "Venezuela was a bush, compared to Pandora" WTF, rings the bell to anyone?. In this movie the corporation supported with the army, goes to a place and exploit it and plunder no matter whats in the middle. Any comparison to reality isnt cohincidence (Iraq, Afganistan, ot whatever). And its strange that nobody notice it, and its teh rality we are living. Are we so used to this behavior as an international polics??? Thats the tragic thing. And yes this an entertainment film and in this aspect is very good, but only in visual matters. the plot is very predictible, and the most original thay did is adding a couple of legs to all animals, not even the bio collective awarness is original in this movie, if you read Asimov just remember GAIA, just for saying one thing. bye to everybody and excuse my english, i hope to express my point of view. Cheers.-

Ok... Cameron did his job so well that even though this story is a repeat, people were able to personify the characters, feel like they become part of the story while watching and all the while, echo the things that are wrong with our society and history as a whole....
When I tell people what Avatar is about, thats my simple explaination, Its a SCI_FI Cowboy and Indian Movie where the Indians win- For Once... Its a almost exact rip off of the Animated Movie- FernGully: The Last Rainforest.... It echos the plight of every Savage that was ever persuctied in our world history... and also has Savages in the movie protrayed primarily by Blacks (dress in costume and painted blue), so I can see where the racist remark might be derived....(Savage=Black Africian=Slavery) but its History people, except it, learn from it and move on....
Jesse Jackson needs something just to get him back into the polictal lime-light and yelling about this is a strech that maybe even his own followers will look at and see his real motives... (Personal Gain) (Hopefully, they've never been too bright)
