Following Chris Dodd’s (the CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America) threatening that the industry would stop the cash flow to the politicians if they are going to withdraw their support to the recently suggested anti-piracy legislations like SOPA and PIPA, the public was quick to put into motion a petition. There it asks the White House to investigate comments of the MPAA’s head.
As a result, several hours ago a White House petition was started, meant to investigate Chris Dodd and the Motion Picture Association of America for alleged bribery. The petition claims that their move represents an open admission of bribery and a threat meant to provoke a specific policy goal. It is claimed to be a brazen flouting of the “above the law” status people of Chris Dodd’s position and wealth enjoy.
According to media reports, the petition says that people simply demand justice and ask the White House to investigate that blatant bribery and indict everyone, particularly government officials and lawmakers, who appears to be involved.
Thus far, over 15 thousand people have already signed this petition, and this was in just a couple hours after its release. Now the number of the Internet users who aren’t afraid to break cover and openly demand justice is rapidly growing. Despite the fact that Chris Dodd’s connections in Washington aren’t to be taken lightly, consumers are still hoping that the petition in question may change something. Meanwhile, the more votes the petition gets, the better it will be for people, because White House can’t ignore the issue of such scale and will have to take action. Everyone who cares about the Internet future and freedom is invited to join the pack and sign the petition to fight for their own freedom of speech.

I wonder how many politician's careers are going to crater after this fiasco has played out?
All DC politicians should have a GOOD look at what happened to Australian Prime Minister John Howard after he pursued an EXTREMELY unpopular Industrial Reform agenda. And THAT only affected Australians!
The bills THEY'RE discussing can potentially affect the WHOLE PLANET! ... And they DON'T think there will be FALLOUT if it passes ... ARE THEY F#@*ING MORONS???
|The American people are very slow to anger and also to WAKE UP; but it appears this is happening and the greedy corrupt POS politicians are starting to worry.|
The big problem with Americans is they don't care what happens as long as it does not mess up their day to day lives; BUT when it does watch out..
|Putting it simply and bluntly, bribery, coercion, blackmail and very deep-rooted corruption now exist in the very highest levels of office in the USA, until Barack Obama makes it plain that such practices are not acceptable and will be rooted out in any level of USA politics. Until such time, any politician standing for office will be viewed as totally untrustworthy and bribed to the hilt!|
As for the action against MegaUpload with the FBI coordinating action in a foreign country on foreign soil, way beyond their jurisdiction or anything we have ever seen before:-
They take out millions of legitimate files by millions of legitimate MegaUpload users, to take down some pirate files that continue to be freely available elsewhere. Justice. Liberty and Human Decency seems to be dead in the water in 2012... All because the FBI put on Jack Boots. I thought two world wars had killed this sort of conduct stone dead, or are the FBI secretly planning to bring back gas chambers? As for New Zealand, I had thought before this that they were a bastion of common sense and pro liberty, but now New Zealand's reputation sucks real big-time world-wide!
Take away freedoms and before you know it we will have full-scale censorship of the internet. Once the mechanisms are in place, who knows how they will be used in the future. We must protect our internet freedom at all costs. If the FBI and American authorities declare war on parts of the internet, every free citizen in the US and around the world must act to defend our freedom and freedom of speech. It's a short walk from censorship to denying any active free speech.
We are talking mind police here, who don't like us even expressing our own thoughts, let alone having freedom of action on the internet. The politicians say one thing when behind the scenes they are trying to dictate almost every aspect of our lives and brainwash us stupid.
