The Dutch Pirate Party is doing its best to defend the world’s largest BitTorrent tracker The Pirate Bay from the Hollywood-backed local anti-piracy group named BREIN.
Dutch Pirate Party has been running a proxy site for the BitTorrent tracker site for a long time now. However, now the anti-piracy outfit is threatening to sue to take the proxy service offline. Of course, The Pirate Party wasn’t impressed by BREIN’s threats – in respond, it published a torrent hosted at its servers that tells BREIN to go forth and multiply.
It is sailing up stream. Three months ago, a Dutch court ruled that the local Internet service provider Ziggo must block access to the infamous torrent tracker. The broadband providers have appealed the court decision, while affected customers knew they have many methods to circumvent the blockades.
The anti-piracy outfit also went ahead and got an injunction from the Court of The Hague. The latter demanded the proxy site tpb.dehomies.nl to go offline or face a 1,000 euros daily fine. Meanwhile, BREIN is already using this injunction in order to press other website operators to do the same, threatening by similar lawsuits.
However, The Pirate Party isn’t caving in, as they would rather fight the case in the court because the demands were actually ridiculous. Dirk Poot, the Party’s chairman, told in the interview that a private lobbying outfit can’t be allowed to filter the national Internet. In case it had given in, the anti-piracy outfit could then have tried the same trick on private citizens.
Dirk Poot explained that unless someone calls them out on their tactics, BREIN will be allowed to go on using them indefinitely.

|Basically in the end you may see some country that like the Swiss used to be the money anonymous bankers of the past stick up their middle finger at these people RIAA, MPAA and others. They would become a safe haven and charging for proxy, server storage or what ever.|
The only way to stop that would be some country using military force and invade them to stop it.
