Last week, NATO's Cyber Defense Center held its 4rth annual conference, where it provided security experts with the unique chance to scare the bejesus out of military experts.
According to cyber experts’ reports, the rapid advances in digital war technology might result in a new generation of “intelligent cyber weapons”. Meanwhile, these new weapons can appear all but unstoppable. Enn Tyugu, the NATO IT expert, thinks that such new weapons won’t only be hard to stop, but also hard to be controlled by the users. As such, they may start living their own lives and that’s where fiction becomes reality. Nevertheless, the expert is talking not about Skynet, but about virus attacks like Stuxnet.
The experts explained that such malware is quite autonomous, and is able to operate independently in an unfriendly environment and may sometimes become almost impossible to control. That can result in cyber conflict launched by these agents themselves.
Ilmar Tamm, the head of the NATO Cyber Defense Center, emphasized that Stuxnet and Flame have indicated another form of cyber threats that is expected to bring many challenges to all security experts. In addition, the number of cyber conflicts is currently increasing and it’s important to understand how to classify events and participants.
Nevertheless, American cyber defense expert Kenneth Geers claimed during the conference that the most powerful cyber weapon today is a little bit more down to earth. In fact, it’s just good old propaganda, which can ruin the world just as super new cyber weapons.

Good! I could care less if it bring down millions of computers. They should be worried about stuff like this instead of about a poor guy trading or sharing his personal DVD.
And believe me, that's a very nasty smart bug!

Possible but doubtful people are stupid of cause as any techy will tell you but as virus's, trojans ect get better so do anti-virus and firewalls, I can see something like this effecting people in the short term but as a long term problem it's doubtful that this could effect a large enough group on enough different levels to be a real threat, my bet is we see a massive increase in botnets and DDOS attacks and direct attacks to large business/goverment, while hacker do target individuals its usually with a goal or through trawling and investigation, me personally I have never done a hack that I would term ether illegal or wrong to my conscience, i join in attacks on pedo sites or direct group attacks against known pedo IP's this way you can mess someone up without legal consequence and then just mail bomb a copy of there IP, Local info and HD lists to there local police stations with covering notes from a proxy one time e-mail account, great way to keep yourself sharp without bothering normal people! If your interested google around for hacker groups who do this there are plenty going, I mean no offense but don't ask me which group I'm in, we all know each other personally which is why we formed but I'd be happy to help out anyone interested in joining another of these groups.

Nothing can beat good ol' social engineering with maybe a $50 bill on the side. But on the soft-tech side, the probability of error is directly proportional to the complexity of the code, whether it's defensive code or offensive code, and the seriousness of the flaws in corrupting already too-complex computer controlled systems is too high a risk in my opinion. There are airlines, emergency systems, power stations, telecommunication systems, nuclear power plants AND nukes being run by computers -- what could possibly go wrong.
Anyone who doesn't realize at this point that the military is more about the corporate conquest of resources and less about freedom and human rights is living in the cave where they found Saddam Husein. Fortunately, there's little 'corporate' incentive beyond the siphoning of government funds for new computer equipment and computerized weapon systems that would motivate them to put a lot of interest and money into cyber attack systems. Their 'bread and butter' is the relentless pursuit of actual weapons which look a lot cooler when they blow the hell out of buildings with lots of innocent lives, especially by 'accident'.
I'm sure that these cyber assaults will at some point involve drones erroneously re-programmed with the geolocation of government facilities and financial centers. Hopefully since the US has not ruled out using drones on US soil, some of these will be used against the US government itself. I'd love to see DC or Wall Street wiped out by a 16 year old programmer in Iran.
Just to keep it real,Skynet are MOD satellites leased by the USA/NSA for communications monitoring 5A,5B and 5C launched by the European space agency Arian in co-operation with the British ministry of defence..
Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction as the best lies always have a glimmer of truth to make them believable.

|Finding Cyber HQ is not hard stopping what they have done and are doing in regards virus implantation of foreign Nationals computers at nuclear sites especially in conjunction with Israel is not very nice and they wonder why their computers and mainframes are targeted, not clever for so-called intelligence operatives, but there again it was on their mis-information we went to war with Iraq so do we expect anything less than complete bull and snow jobs when they get caught with their pants down ( I did say snow !!!)||
