File sharers spend more money on music , according to the recent polls

Here is a little info for all, i read an article about people who are illegally downloading music on the net, that they are spending way, more than anyone downloading anything on the net a survey taken and published, was finding those who admitted to downloading illegally spent on average £77 a year, £33 more. That's a huge jump from the ones who claim to never of downloaded anything with it being illegal....

nq1K7xiV.png

The findings state that the secretary of state for business Peter Mandelson is going to be cracking down on the illegal downloaders, he is trying to instate the three strikes rule: three strikes and you're out, where he wants to threaten, the loss of the internet connection to those who find themselves caught and on, or past the 3rd strike but alas this seems to look as if it will affect the music industry more than anything by going after the core customers ....

It is estimated that approx 7 million uk users alone download illegally each year ....
The BPI or well know as the British phonographic industry, lol BPI sounds better, but they believe that it will cost them the industry well over £200m this year just in, infringement costs ...

The poll surveyed 1000 16 to 50 year old users and found that one in ten peeps admit to downloading illegally ....

The new approach by the government will not even help the music industry, music co and the suits or politicians need to open there eyes and see that music consumption has changed drastically, now all want faster and cheaper. This comes from well know think tank demo, Peter Bradwell ...

The poll suggested the government's plan is simple ,if downloaders ignore the warning letters ,then they will disconnect your net service with some 61% of illegal downloaders admitting that they would be deterred to not download with the threat of loosing the net for a month ...

Quoted from Mark Mulligan: from Forrester research, they meaning the file sharers, use file sharing as a discovery tool, we have a generation of youth whom don't have any concept as music as a paid for commodity ,"he continued to explain" you need to have it all at a reasonable price that you don't notice:..

The Digital Economy Bill will come affect this coming April ,it will focus on new measures to crack down on the net piracy .. in return this has net providers raising a lot of flack ,basically crying they believe it , will be too hard to enforce.........

This year: Virgin Media will offer a whole new service ,i believe many will love. its the first music subscription service ...this will allow music customers to download and keep UNLIMITED, YES UNLIMITED tracks from universals catalog with the fee being a mere £15.

In closing here is s a funny ironic note :
it seems the music artists are also divided James Blunt and Lilly Allen recently supporting the governments stance on the entire illegal file sharing ... while Latin pop sensation and star Shakira Argues that the file sharing ,she believes, brings her closer to her fans ......

No avatarAlthough Peter Mandelson, or as Gilbert & Sullivan presciently referred to him in the Mikado as "Pooh-Bah" (a minor official who enjoys acquiring a larger number of titles ..... including Lord High Everything Else), will presumably be looking for a new job after the change in Government, I hope that the Government will fast track more important legislation rather than Mandelsons vanity project.
