Alliance, known as the Internet Association, includes fourteen Internet giants such as Google, Amazon, and Facebook. The aim of the alliance is to defend online freedom and human right for privacy.
The Internet Association was officially announced last week. Its president, Michael Beckerman, explained that if given the chance, the outfit would have boycotted SOPA bill. However, SOPA died long ago, so the outfit doesn’t have to make sure that the government understands how exactly it would have censored the web and harmed its infrastructure. Anyway, the alliance says that its mission is to be the unified voice of the online economy in all policy debates.
Michael Beckerman had worked with Capitol Hill for a dozen years, ending as a deputy staff director of the House Energy and Commerce Committee for Rep. Fred Upton, a vocal opponent of network neutrality. In the meantime, there are some concerns about the FCC, so a federal court is going to hear the changes brought by the outfit’s new rules next year.
Beckerman added that the alliance also realizes the importance of a reformed Electronic Communications Privacy Act. Moreover, Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) has suggested new digital privacy protections which demand the authorities to get a probable-cause warrant in order to obtain e-mail and other information stored in the cloud. This suggestion will be introduced in the Senate Judiciary Committee soon.
While there are a lot of groups that lobby against the abusive regime governed by the Motion Picture Association of America and the Recording Industry Association of America, the Internet Association is supported by such giants as Apple, Microsoft and Oracle. Nevertheless, these companies aren’t part of the group.
The association also lists Google, Amazon, eBay, AOL, Facebook, Monster Worldwide, Salesforce.com, TripAdvisor, and Yahoo. The president of the Center for Democracy and Technology confirmed that the Internet giants play a crucial role in educating policymakers about how political debates affect Internet innovation and the ability of Internet portals to empower people and entities around the world. Hopefully, this association will be able to protect Internet users’ rights.

"Electronic Communications Privacy Act" we had something similar to that 17 years ago. it got tossed out with the digital millennium copyright act.
Good news to read. Thanks, someone has to stand up for our rights since the Government won't. "Love thy Country, hate thy Government", lets take our government back!. I wonder though, even as big as these associate members are, will they have as much funding available as the Follywood Entertainment Industry? Looks like a group that Kim Dotcom & Mega should join as well. Hope they all kick butts!!
Good guys Internet Association
the internet association may be a sham, it may just be a distraction, obama entire presidency was nothing but a distraction for the patriot act and the on comming NAU/Currency change and debt dump. were trading off the debt with the spoils of war, which nowadays is political placement and contract work. hopfully there interests are our interests but mostlikely not, there into cornering there market and making sure there good. we need nerds with guns armed with lawyers to sit on these meetings and keep everyone else in check
haha when i was living in the ghetto and obama got elected no one had fireworks but everyone had guns all the b lack ppl stepped out to empty a clip for obama, it was some scary sh!t to be honest, nothin but cop sirens for half an hour then they gave up and another round for obama went off this time no sirens.

So glad Google etc are doing something good like this. It is exactly what is needed to fight the powers that be. No longer david and goliath hopefully.
Actually I believe also another reason for Obama presidency was because of the anti American histeria after Iraq, Afghan etc, all the burning of the American flag, histeria etc. The USA needed a black president to restore somehow repair things. It made the whole world stop and take notice when Obama came in. Changed peoples view on America. Damage limitation. Some people may hate me for saying so, but im not racist, maybe cynical, but I believe the timing was too coincidental. Bush was the figure head accountable for the decisions, America was at an all time high for being maybe the most hated nation on earth then BANG, Bush is gone, Obama in, first time in American history a black man becomes president of USA to distract everyone.
I totally understand what ur saying about obama, but obama has been circulating for around 20yrs now,so either the war machine and its accotiated companies was grooming obama to become president or its actually good for the american people on an honest level that he made presidency. Its so easy to put ideas and conspiracys together these days that sometimes the truth might actually be the truth in this case...
