America Looking for a Cyber Reason to Invade Iran

Desperate to find a reason to get involved, the military establishment of the United States decided to use its latest bugbear of cyber warfare as its latest pretext. The country is now claiming that Iran is going to fire cyber weapons of mass distraction.

A week ago, the American military issued the warning, saying that they might have to take an action to stop a cyber war. In the meantime, the Defense Secretary also claimed that the country faced a risk of a so-called “cyber-Pearl Harbor”. These claims were made after the last year mutterings that cyber war might be countered with conventional weaponry.

According to the press reports of the last week, the United States has claimed that Iran has launched a serious wave of hacker attacks which crippled the machines throughout the Saudi oil industry along with some financial institutions in America.

It seems that the United States chose another tactics and has focused on a cybercorps created by Iran last year instead of paying attention to weapons of mass destruction. Perhaps, this was done in response to the US and Israeli hacker attacks on the local nuclear enrichment plant.

Although the cyber attacks originating from Iran have actually been modest and the country is definitely much weaker than, for instance, China or Russia, the United States doesn’t want desperately to go to war with those countries.

Nevertheless, the United States believes that it should get involved anytime that oil is mentioned. It turned out that the biggest attack was that of Saudi Aramco, the largest oil company in the world. Everyone knows that the War on Iraq was started against the Saudi’s enemies and an oil rival, and it is clear now that the Saudis don’t like Iran either.

No avatarLOL, SaM - always these airhead posts. Its embarrassing to the site. Taking little tidbits and gluing them together out of context doesn't make an article. It was pretty clear Panetta is pushing for a bill to create an overall framework for the US cyber security instead of relying on an uncoordinated responses by uncooperative smaller government fiefdoms. Every other country is doing pretty much the same thing. A greater importance being placed on cyber security. Welcome to 2012.

No avatarCIA is concentrated on Syria now - that's a key to Iran. Syria get's attacked - Iran has a defense pact with it -so to it'll be dragged in and Iranian oil is what US corporations really want.

alchemy316 avatar@Seksor i agree with all but the sam statement , but i think that as always they know way more than we do if the pentagon wants to speed up the cyber arms race than this is a good way as i said before its not just them. look at nato and the airforce too they all seem to have there targets mainly Iran, russia, china i think also preemptive strikes are a bit to hasty but we will see

OpenMinder avatarSaM is entitled to his/her opinion(s), and this article section is, in essence, a blog of sorts, based upon SaM's reading and interpretation of various articles, situations and reports. We are left to do our own, more detailed research, and hopefully educate ourselves in the process.

We can agree or disagree with SaM's position, but is there really such need for baseless name-calling?

All information points to subversive attempts by major oil corporations and their larger "cartels" to control the ownership and ultimately the source/supply of the world's primary energy supply. That is simple fact.

It would be embarassing to this site if we dismissed articles which highlighted such possibilities, where the majority of these companies are the very ones we, as torrenters and file-sharers purport to distain and to fight, and instead brushed it aside as foolish bantering.

IMHO.

D4T4 avatarThe USA has just failed in it's attempt to extradite a British guy with assbergers syndrome who hacked into NASA and the Pentagon looking for evidence of UFO's, a guy in his bedroom with a laptop. Why doesn't the USA simply get it's sh!t together and sort out it's security? China must be laughing her rocks off. The USA is so far behind the rest of the world I bet even Obama is answering spam mail from Nigeria.

fusseltier avatarthe US doesn't need to find a reason, they can make up any reason and justify it, just like bush did with iraq. if and when they want to do anything, they will do it regardless if they have facts or made up facts.

No avatarHmm, well, Sam, for whatever it's worth, I appreciate the posts. I come here looking for torrents, but I always scan the news items and then go research it more for myself. I've run across a lot of things I heard about here first. Thanks.
