The Federals announced that they were improving their hours to tackle the problem of online attacks. This was quite a surprise for many, because most American citizens assumed that catching hackers was something the authorities assigned the experience person to do. Moreover, nobody can understand how many hours FBI spent hunting hackers before.
According to press reports, the agency admitted it has been developing an initiative for the past year. FBI was going to identify and investigate Internet-based intrusion attacks and create a team of specially trained computer experts able to extract the hackers’ online signatures from the malicious code.
It seems that the FBI is going to bring in specialists from various critical infrastructures, including finance, business, and transportation. In addition, they have also hired experts to work at its Cyber Division’s Cyber Watch command. FBI investigators will send their findings to a centre operating 24/7, which will be looking for patterns in certain cases.
The Feds see this job as addressing hacker attacks by cooperating with their own Counterterrorism and Counterintelligence divisions. Moreover, information, dubbed the “National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force”, will be provided to other law enforcement agencies, like the National Security Agency, the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security for further investigation. According to Special Agent Richard McFeely, who is also an executive assistant director of the FBI’s Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services Branch, the goal of the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force is to find “attribution piece” of an online intrusion.
In the meantime, the attribution piece is spook talk for someone conducting the attack or the exploitation and their motive. The authorities are intended to conduct all the necessary analysis in order to find out who is at the other end of the keyboard perpetrating the attacks. The industry observers believe the FBI doesn’t want to consider the idea of dealing with a full on terrorist attack, only to reveal a luckless British looking for aliens. However, the FBI claims that its aim is to ensure that the nation’s secrets don’t leak to adversaries, and the agency is ready to work 24/7 to do its job.

And they? say America is not a police state!?
Hacker's beware FBI balls are out in force 24 7
the sort of signature they are looking for is in the code such as the sasser virus it`s creator had 4 derivations of same virus but there were others that made up a total between 8 and 12 derivations of the same virus. So when they have hunted down one or two ppl more will fill their boots add infinitum,as Martin Luther king demonstrated you cannot stop an idea, hunt the hackers but dig 2 graves when you do
The only reason Hacktivists exist is the Man wants to rule the internet and corporate America ,the NSA/CIA,Cyber are all in the same boat see CIA directors report 2001-2011 Global Cyber strategy and then read Cybers manifesto 2012 and it is clear nothing short of Orwellian (big Brother)control of the internet is what the Americans want and have been striving towards for the past 11 years.
It would mark an end to internet privacy and what little freedoms we all posses in favour of Interception servers,ISP monitoring and control and units from Cyber armed to the teeth busting in your door with a big metal Key.
thats so strange coz i thought the freedom was lost a long time ago, most of thier actual work is done for them by clever software that we have no choice but to run on out computers so i dont see it the same way as actual live tracking but more like a time bomb on your pc waiting for you to just raise that red flag and only then do get that matrix like dude bashing down your firewall

Actually, the NSA is not a law enforcement agency and can not spy on U.S. citizens. Same with the CIA. It's in the Constitution. Wait, sorry, the Constitution went out of vogue a while ago.

So what would you do to stop illegal activities? Anarchy? Do not get me wrong I believe they need to be regulated in what they are allowed to do but law enforcement is still a need and requirement.

Hackers are a waste of everyone's time. I hope they get dragged out of their parent's basement and thrown out into the sun. They'd probably burst into flames or something.

Yep, I can just see them now, serving that warrant in down town Beijing.
The Nazi's tried to stop the resistance and look what happened to them. Hackers are a natural response to internet disease.

stuff the usa..who do they think they are...
the funny thing is, if the hackers went after the FBI, the Feds would lose.
Careful who you screw with Uncle Sam ........ the bug might just !@#! up that windshield !
I wrote this on another post but I think it applies here as well :
If a safer, faster, more innovative Internet is to progress there is always going to be people trying exploits as there were in phone phreaking and other early electronic exploits and it is only by these exploits and understanding them that they can be stopped, until then expect them to continue and to drive innovation otherwise antivirus ,firewall, games companies, etc, etc would be laying off 1000`s as there would be no need to update, patch or improve in applications leading to apathy and insecurity to the point that any one will be able to hack you, virus you, trojan or even access all your credit cards, bank account etc and leave you sitting with just the clothes on your back. The fact that policing the internet is pretty much impossible is a given the restriction of transports and outlawing file
sharing seems to be the driving imperative especially since decentralised torrenting and DHT make it a secure transport. When the big brother Orwellian mentality is lost and systems are made secure maybe the world can move on and Innovation in other things outside of security to the benefit of mankind will be developed
100`s of millions spent just in creating Cyber unit @ fort meade think of the benefits to mankind if it was spent on cancer research or in another humanitarian cause, now that would be money well spent.
|stop arresting them and use the knowledge they have and re think the statements if hackers vs the gov gov would lose you miss a giant part of the gov and how that would work out but in this growing age of terror somethings are needed script kids are a menace taking down sites for giggles is bs it takes away from the people who create real software using linux plat this is a reason why the feds hate linux programmers most are not hackers most dont create things to harm others in fact the gov does much ,more often eg mini flame etc||
