Google is experiencing difficulties with getting back into the Chinese market. The reason is the disruptions to Google’s service coming from outside forces. The local media reported that the disruptions began a week ago, or at least that’s what Google’s “transparency report” website said when its Chinese users complained that the search engine, Gmail and Google Play store stopped working.
The company claimed that its own statistics revealed a sharp decline in traffic from the country, and confirmed that the problem wasn’t with its equipment. Moreover, it wasn’t because of the local hackers either, with fingers being pointed at the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Indeed, the web filtering efforts in China have been increased ahead of the 18th Party Congress –a meeting of top Communist Party leaders in Beijing which started last Thursday. The meeting in question is unveiling a new slate of top party leaders, so the event made it a sensitive time in the eyes of Beijing.
Industry observers believe that the government decided to throttle the Internet in order to kill off access to foreign media articles telling about corruption and wealth in the country spurred by the party congress and the fall of Bo Xilai. For example, the New York Times and Bloomberg News were also unavailable in the country in 2012 because each of them ran articles telling about the wealth accumulated by the local leaders.
Moreover, even VPN operators, including the Witopia service, in recent weeks also have complained they have been blocked in China.

Hate to say it but America is trying to follow suit with all the censorship laws that try to get passed here, the only catch is the people here have enough of a say, at the moment, to stop the censorship from really affecting us to that extent.
Google is experiencing difficulties with getting back into the Chinese slave market. They need some really really cheap to no pay all labor to fix a sprung sprocket and an oddle at addle.

"The company claimed that its own statistics revealed a sharp decline in traffic from the country" LOL that's because they keep letting the RIAA and the MPAA censor the search and they and everybody is so SICK of it.
also I bet this censored information by China was do to the RIAA/MPAA so no one could see what they are doing. this information is some ware, you just have to look hard enough for it.
@Nan1977asdl: the US has no democracy ether. in fact China owns the US.
"Chinese slave market" every one knows that US based corporations are the ones behind that.
we can blame the us for many things but when do the countries allowing this take any fault at all you allow a foreign country use your citizens mainly as slave labor now im sure apple didnt say lets use kids so we can get our iphones even cheaper nor did most say hmm lets outsource to china also china does not own anything lol stop reading general news and learn what happened in fact if anything id say the fed owns the usa over the Chinese trillions that went to not anything we can really pin point and say oh yes this is what this 5 trillion went to. fact is the gov and fed have bleed this country dry in loans to banks here and over seas the chinese loans is a set fraction of the debt this country amassed 9 trillion fed lost 3 trillion bush admin lost and the 4-7 obama flushed plus mil spending and programs the fed swoops in and says hmmm have more money even though we loaned all of yours away

@card13: what proposed bills are you talking about that would be equivalent to this level of censorship? Like SOPA and PIPA and stuff?
Yeah, China holds trillions of dollars of our debts and couldn't devastate our currency if they wanted, we're constantly fighting bills by the entertainment and law enforcement authorities in this country to maintain our rights to free speech and to be secure in our person and effects (our privacy), and we've had some stunning losses of rights, including, just as an example, the provision under the NDAA which allows the President the authority to arrest and detain anyone for any reason whatsoever until "the end of hostilities" which is a laughable way of saying "never." (Raise your hand if you think mankind will spontaneously cease all hostilities in perpetuity)... It is a STUNNING attempt by the President to circumvent the Constitution, and it is to his great, great shame that it was HIS office that asked for the language to be included. His promises that he "won't use the law to detain an American citizen indefinitely.." is of little comfort, give all of the rhetoric I bought hook, line and sinker when he was running for election the first time, talking about how we needed to roll back the Constitutional incursions the Bush administration had perpetrated and becoming more transparent... and then what does he do? Not only does he not roll any of those things back, but he expanded them and broadened their purview. Anyways.. Sorry.. Got of a rant on some of my disappointment with this administration..
My whole point is that despite all of this, and how it should scare the holy hell out of those of us who care about such things as civil liberties, we have it so much better than China it's not even funny. Our standard of life is way higher, life expectancy way longer, Much higher pay, and the state can't stomp on me for posting this message, nor can they keep everyone else in the world from being able to read it. As far as China dumping US currency.. If they do, it's a prelude to war, and I don't think they have the stones for that. I can't see the advantage either.. The truth is, if the American economy totally craters, so does China's. We buy most of their shit! Our economies are incredibly interrelated and they would be screwing themselves over in the process of screwing us.
Anyways... I'd love to visit China and see what it's like, but as far as our rights go, America is kicking its ass.. For the time being, anyways..
china lost the awesome thing ... bad luck for china
just have a ton of little cheap ass google logo trinkets made...they'll be back in China before they know it
Since Google has to work in conjunction with the NSA/CIA and Google analytical monitors and records data no doubt the Chinese are hoping to prevent further spying on them by the American government, the Chinese have for years had the great Firewall but also have had programs like Gladder which overcomes the problems they faced getting Internet outside of the country, they may well see that Google like Microsoft fusion centres poses a security threat and are looking to prevent further leakage.

Who remembers how Google came about ?
The many, many! Search engines that grasp their way to be the number one choice many years ago was a reality.
Many had their search engines up to date and, in real time, to be world standard.
Google was choosen as a medium to that end.
No, Google was not part of those in competition but it exist.
Not a single one of those search engines in competetion won.
No one could understand the reason why Google was found fit over the many creations.
So logic suggests it was degreed, what could go wrong would go wrong. So the safe option was Google.
San Remo - was the last public outcry for anyone wanted to ride the Google wave - then - nothing.
Google's location was, secret. No one could claim the search engine as their own holding on to codes and I.P that Google bore.
Rumor suggest that A.S.I.O gave life to the search engine, for the whole world.
Many lost winning top place. The income potentual was massive, giving feet for the first trillionaire to come forward.
In the end it look like a drip, a drop for each and every person to share.
As little as it seems it was fair. Fair for the entire world.
