It seems that the American government’s bid to act as creative content industry’s personal police force is coming unstuck. Indeed, its latest bid to extradite MegaUpload’s founder Kim Dotcom from New Zealand for suspected Internet piracy has been delayed once again. Actually, it now looks like Kim Dotcom is going to be waiting for a hearing until August 2013.
Kim Dotcom was arrested a year ago for suspected Internet piracy and his hearing was scheduled to August 2012. This was then pushed back to March 2013 amid legal wrangling over evidence disclosure. At the moment, a spokesperson for Dotcom’s Auckland-based barrister Paul Davison told the press that the court had once again rescheduled the court hearing to August 2013 without explaining the reasons.
In the meanwhile, New Zealand’s foreign intelligence agency – the Government Communications Security Bureau – is currently under investigation for unauthorized spying on Kim Dotcom ahead of his arrest during a raid on his Auckland mansion a year ago. Perhaps, the service believed it was acting legitimately. Ever since New Zealand stood up to the United States over its nuclear weapons free policy in the 1980s, the authorities have been trying to butter up the US and return to being their main chum in the Pacific.
Nevertheless, news that the agency was illegally spying on the perceived enemies of the entertainment industry started to be embarrassing for the New Zealand government, with Prime Minister John Key issuing a public apology to Kim back in 2012, acknowledging that the German national should have been off-limits to the service since he holds New Zealand residency.
This move was the latest in a string of setbacks for the case against Kim, who currently remains free on bail in New Zealand, including a court decision that the search warrants the police used in the raid on his house were illegal. The entertainment industry wants Kim Dotcom jailed as if he was a gangster, but it failed to make terrorism charges stick.

Yes, but under the law evidence obtained illegally has no standing or merit. It's like it never existed.

He can appeal to probably a thousand similar cases with wrongfully collected evidence, so it`s a done deal. But...the U ASS OF A has a scratch it can`t itch:)
I am waiting for the compensations claims with baited breath so far we have Conspiracy involving the FBI and New Zealand intelligence operatives,Illegal search and seizure under bogus warrants and the prima facea evidence that he had some illicit films on site from ninja video which had no current working links to but which were on his site at the behest of the FBI as evidence in their sting of Ninja video in which Kim aided the man in their take-down.So ultimately he can explain the copyrighted film content,he can authorise only what evidence he wants in court from the seizures as the rest is inadmissible as illegal search and seizure and ultimately will defame the FBI and other involved agencies by their inept management of the surveillance 6 weeks before his illegal arrest.

@firefoxsniper: "failed to make terrorism charges stick" ya Ive known about that for a wile now...the RIAA and MPAA both think that copyright infringement is an act of terrorism.
the US will ONLY secede IF they find a way around the legal mumbojumbo. in other words they MUST break more peace treaties to do so.
