According to a report from Experian Marketing Services, Apple’s returns policy appeared to be the most searched for over Christmas period. The reason of this might include spoilt kids and unclear branding. Indeed, the statistics showed that searches for Apple’s returns policy topped the lists.
Apple was followed by Argos, Harrods, and Debenhams, and overall, searches for returns policies grew 250% compared to the same time 2012. However, last year was also record breaking for Internet retail.
According to Experian Marketing Services’ digital insight manager, the return policy searches might result from brand confusion. For instance, parents can easily mix up an iPad Mini and an iPod Nano, which, although sounding similar, are completely different products.
He also admitted that this had been the busiest Christmas ever for web retailers who saw 30% growth in visits since 2011. Boxing Day and increasingly Christmas Day itself are key days when people shop online, spending Christmas money on gifts they did not receive or organizing returns for unwanted presents.
The holidays are the days when brats were largely ridiculed for complaining about the color of the products they got. Despite the fact a lot of the twits later claimed to be joking, it is absolutely possible supply was tight for the color they wanted and they went online for a replacement.
