MiniNova was ruled to delete all torrents leading users to illegal material. The order was made last August by Dutch court and was carried out last November, when all such torrents were removed. It was not surprising when MiniNova’s traffic has plummeted. The subject was how deep the Dutch based company would fall, if it would ever be heard from at all.
But MiniNova is not a usual sort of BitTorrent website. Not half as combatant as The Pirate Bay, the industry has never sought to abolish this BitTorrent search engine. MiniNova is seen to be quite moderate in the online wars of copyright; in other words – a website that could be given the chance and succeed as a legal enterprise. Although Bescherming Rechten Entertainment Industrie Nederland (a trade association that represents Dutch movie studios and recording industry) was MiniNova’s adverse party in court, their server has never been raided, and there haven’t been any claim to close the website down – their only demand was to stop facilitating the distribution of copyrighted material.
Almost 3 months passed since that radical change at MiniNova. Though so far it is still working and it’s surprising that a non-infringing BitTorrent site managed to last so long.
So what happened to traffic of MiniNova? It sunk – but it wasn't as tragic. Of course it dropped a lot – about 75%. But that was something they expected. Operating at the quarter capacity is not entirely the end of the world. As a lot of ex-popular BitTorrent sites have now this figure at zero level after run-in with Entertainment Industries, we should admit it could be much worse. Now MiniNova’s traffic seems to be remarkably stabilizing.
The largest MiniNova’s asset prior to losing the index used to be Content Distribution Network, which was used by thousands of artists all over the world as it was the best way to get their material exposed and more and more of them could see its benefits and join it. Now MiniNova’s team admits that the Network is actually floating the website. Content Distribution Network is ideal for almost everyone, whether they’re big artists or just starting ones.
That is not the end of MiniNova’s recovering story. The site is also well positioned to recall its lapsed glory as well as remain an important player in the BitTorrent field. Nevertheless, MiniNova is still here after all that happened, and if things go on this course, they are sure to be here to stay.

|Good read. It's true that MNova has gone legal and is stabilizing as one of the "Good" torrent site but we have to admit that that's gonna be their peak. It's all down hill for them now and no more than that. Well, of course, if legit stuffs are all they're gonna post up. |
Well, all said and done, I'd love to see their come back someday. :)
|Nice update on mininova figured they were done for. I always liked the site and it was just before they went down that i came here to ET with god knows how many others. The massive variety of nova was great but i think the format ET has, takes the cake. Thanks for the read|
