The rumors are that Microsoft is going to release another version of Windows as soon as in 2014. The speculations are that next Windows OS can hit the streets a year from November next.
However, the rumors don’t explain why users should feel the need to upgrade to Windows 9 before Windows 8 takes off. In fact, at the moment lots of users are in the same boat, believing that Windows 7 is good enough. As for me, I personally think that a line should be drawn at Windows XP, which has never let me down, and I am not alone.
The rumors come from Win8China, which has provided a number of good Windows leaks before. Win8China reveals that Microsoft is developing Windows 9 for a tentative November 2014 product launch, with a beta expected to be out to try as early as next January.
Actually, the announced dates are around the time of year that we would be expecting a Windows yearly OS update. Taking all this into account, this does make it possible that new Windows OS could have a November 2014 release. In addition, there’s a chance that Microsoft has finally understood that making people pay for regular short term upgrades, like Apple, is a better business model than making users pay for a bigger one every few years.

Actually I'm afraid both win 8 and 9 will be bad. Has anyone seen this? "Windows Blue shows why Microsoft may kill the Desktop in Windows 9" If you do any google searching you'll find that 9 is killing the desktop completely and making it look and act exactly like the win-mo phones. I think all my 15 boxes/laptops and server will be going either hackintosh, linux or staying on win 7/server 2008 r2.

no way #6. I wont install win9 either if its built on 8. I think all of them are up to something big and fishy. they might try kissing old market goodbye and start making software which will need new and expensive hardware.
i am still happy with Windows 7 and never will upgrade until Windows 7 will be working well for Gaming
I totally agree with u all , I have been a diehard XP man from the time it was released I have 7 on both laptops and Xp on both of my desktops It Never lets me dwn, I hear people always complaining about windows 8 sayn to many bugs, when will the upgrades ever end!!!! It's jus another way for them to tryn dig into our pockets !!!! I'm not tryn 2 keep up with these upgrades that does the same stuff as what I already have !!!!
When my mums new laptop with windows 8 installed arrives I might install windows 7 64-bit for her. But she only needs it for her emails and stuff like that so might just leave it as is for now while its under garantee.

I tried Windows 8,consumer preview...what a nightmare and IMO ugly too.I will stick with 7,though I loved XP my laptop came with 7 and I am sticking to it.After my experience I would not even try 9,it seems that Microsoft is going away from their Windows ways.
I couldn't agree more with all the comments here. I myself tried Win 8 at a local store, and it sucked. Im all good with Win 7.

yes Zohaib 2010 bro u r right i m also using win 7 and it's really a good os ever for everything like xp i do use xp but i have some complaint abt xp so i m using 7 min 26 months without format and it's working very good

i use both 7&8 and found no difference between them other that the metro theme
8 seems to run a lot faster than 7
one major difference between win7&8 is 8 is half the price of 7 and you get 2 os 1 metro 1 standard win7 based desktop os
ill post screens for the "pc techs"that claimed they used 8 and say it doesn't use a mouse and has no desktop lol
the smartest thing to do would be to buy a version of 8 while it's still cheap because time will come when ms announce that they will discontinue support for win7 like they have with xp
then people will say 8 is better 7 is crap like they did with xp when 7 came out

No option to turn start menu back on??!? Seroiusly!?!?!?
They had classic start menu in XP and they did not put a f****ing button in the taskbar...

does tech move so fast we need a new OS every few years?
i only wanted win 7 because it seemed to be a good os and had plenty 64 bit support.

I agreed with "oziman", windows 8 works pretty well , the only problem is the METRO crap layer, that I don't use, but other than that it is pretty stable and smooth.

ofc wind 8 works. do it take tiem to get use to yes.do you get even more out of it using a touch ofc.but still great working wind.but ill stay with what i got atm

What did help me with the 8 preview was I installed the start button, that made things a little more familiar. It just was to unstable and ran into to much shit not working, pretty much like Vista when it came out.The updates also are big and can be troublesome,it was the free version that was used for testing...so maybe I am wrong but if I wanted my PC to act like a damn phone I would buy a phone.
its all about the money. Ms created win 8 to sell shitty apps and over priced songs to kids and simple minded adults. and what is the point of a i pad or tablet. big clumsy P.O.S that is too easy to drop and smash charger ports that are made out of the most fragile material known to man or beast.
Unless you're into the gimmicky touch screen scene & want to say "look at me Ive got the NEW OS windows 8" then it really isnt worth bothering with, especially not yet. There just hasnt been enough time yet for all the bugs to be ironed out & for most applications
to get win8 compatible. You are better off sticking with win7 or XP Pro.
And you will also think that yourself the first time you start 'touching' your screen when pissed & you notice your LCD display leaking, lol
windows and fedora both seem intent on quick turn outs of the newest and latest desktops, but at what price ,the latest on fedora 18 is that in my experience it had a xul runner and firefox issue that prevented flashplayer working, other developers found it to be painful to use as news reports have indicated and as with all windows releases 8 has yet to have had enough time to have had enough feedback and update of its release issues.Fedora can be forgiven for its slapdash release because it is a free distro, but if Microsoft issues another costly platform they are looking for few sales from all but the most narcissistic of users, since when paying 230 GBP for an operating system one wants what is paid for a fully functional system.XP and subsequent releases have all proved that releases need to be the finished item and not a beta because the consumer base of windows may drop out from under them if they keep plying expensive useless pap to the public.I run currently xp and fedora core 14 on dual boot and both are stable and can be operated on simultaneously without issue so for all those people thinking of a new desktop if it aint broke don`t fix it,simples.
Scrap windows 9 at this moment, Windows 8 and Windows 7 is the closes you will get. Windows 8 has a good set of features which some people will like but it's nothing compare to Windows vista at all. If they did get Windows 9 in 2014 it be a waste of time for everything as Microsoft is losing money and may not produce it.
The fact is that most of us can not except change and what more. This is not a race for Microsoft OS on your hard Drive every year for e.g. windows 9 or 10 or 11 if they get that far.
(Microsoft quoted) Windows vista will be no longer on any updates or PCS from next year of April 2014.
Windows 8 and 7 will still be active after vista's end on April 2014.
I have win 8 on this PC..I have downloaded classic shell to give me back the desk top, I dont care for win 8..to be honest
When I said new Windows Vista I didn't mean the same as the operating system itself, smh I was referring to marketing moves they seem to love to do.
ever retarded,iv been using 7 ultimate since it came out with ZERO problems
If it's not broke, don't fix it... Windows seemed to have missed that memo.
Windows 8 is a joke for the desktop and even the laptop market. It's not intuitive at all, and leaves many of us wondering what Microsoft was thinking. Not only does the OS suck, but they are trying to move to a platform that is like that of Apple where all software must go through Microsoft to offered. I guess they feel they don't make enough money as it is, and need collect money from both developers, and customers through their own app store.
I will not buy it under any circumstances, and when I purchase a computer for a client, friend, or family member; I look for a Windows 7 machine. If I can't find one them I reload whatever I buy with Windows 7.
I personally was happy enough with XP, and my have stayed there if not for the rapidly decreasing support. Windows 8 is nothing but Windows Millennium Edition all over again. It makes Vista look good...
if someone is going to try the windows blue...don't.
It doesn't have just some bugs.
It is filled with hoards of "RAM-sucking" giant ass...watever you get the point!
wow ! Thank you all for ur Opinion & thank you sam to share this. i will stick with w7

Windows 8's Metro UI sucks but as an OS it really isn't that bad..... at least not compared to Windows ME.

I have a confession to make. Ready? On your mark, get set, LAUGH:
I'm still using a customized "Lenovo" version of XP to this very day
(Lenovo XP 7 Style, dated 2010)... it hasn't failed me yet, got all
my updates up to snuff, still running smoothly.
If I decide to upgrade I doubt I'll go to Windows 8.
Win7 Ultimate does a good job as well, so that's as far as I'd go.
Micros#1t can stick it up theirs where the sun don't shine.
