On Tuesday, February 23rd 2010 , the technology ministry of CHINA has modified the controls and made them real strict on the use of Internet. The main target of CHINA is to Ban pornography. Whoever wants to open up any site, he/she have to take help of the one who have regulators and only then a site could be operated
The one which have the responsibility of registering domain names in China i.e. State-Sanction Group, blocked new registrations on the web sites just after a complaint from state media in December about being unable to have not much checking on the sites whether any pornographic material is present or not.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that the ban was removed but before they could register their site again they need first to provide their identity papers and a photo of themselves. Moreover they need to meet personally with the regulator and server provider representatives.
China is well-known for its world’s biggest online population of about 384 million users accessing Internet. Moreover, the most scoped and the largest extended system of Web monitoring and filtering, which also works for banning the sites which provide pornographic stuff is being operated by none other than China Government.
These rules rose up along with Google Inc case. As earlier, Google Inc. and China had been on war like situations and even Google Inc. clarified that no cooperation would be done by it with the China Web Censorship and because of the same, China is in thought if they let Google Inc. to continue work with them or not. No information about their discussion b/w the two in this matter is present so far.
The government is in fully charged up and continued taking people in custody for providing online pornography and so far 5,400 were taken into custody just in the past year.

Dang...5400 people in custody just for looking at some porn. Glad I live in the USA. Thanks for the article.
more traffic for torrent sites then all the free porn they can handle
"Whoever wants to open up any site, he/she have to take help of the one who have regulators and only then a site could be operated."
That sucks like hell. Damn. And for taking people into custody just for couple of porno flicks? What are they and who are they to do that? Don't tell me that they, the so called officials, haven't watched any in their whole life? Where did the privacy of the people go?
China, you disappoint me as much as you impressed me. Good read EMUworld. Thanks for sharing and thanks to SaM for posting.
Btw, gold, you gotta change your avatar's frame rate dude. It's so slow I barely noticed that it was a trailer from Iron Man 2. :D
some one need to just take all there firewalls down like in the early 90's. China needs to stop trying to brainwash there population. eventually it will just lead to war, thats all.
Thats comunism for ya...I really dont get it cause with their population they could over throw their government with their crazy laws. Numbers count and the civilians have a much, much higher numbers. But I guess this is the way they want it or they feel powerless to do anything about it because of the years and years of tyrany they have endored. I really feel for the population of CHINA.
Very interesting article, howewer, China is not really well known in the international community for being merciful to its own citizens, along with human rights violations (including torture) for reletivly menial and petty crime. It does not suprise me at all that Chinese citizens have to go through so much in order to gain full access to the internet, never mind actually running a website, China is so hypocritcal, they kick off if thir own people watch a skin flivk and yet allow sites located within their borders to stream copyrighted material because when you get down to it they see it as being a western problem, because nobody in China would d'load a dodgy MP3!
Also Void Surfer,
'...I really dont get it cause with their population they could over throw their government with their crazy laws...'
its the same reason that North Koreans are nuts, they are literally 'brainwashed' into believing that the world outside N. Korea is a pit of evil, and everything good comes from N.K.
Also a lot of people in NK believe that foreign cars such as VW, BMW and GM are actually built within NK and not imported at all.
I sawe a program about them and a 2 yr old girl was already singing a song devoting her life to a president that has been dead for 30 odd years.
The entire nation of China went through a very very bad revoloution, and along with the invasion of Japan into Manchuria in WWII the red army came along and 'saved' China, and managed to stabalize a country that had been at war with itself for about 40 years. Chairman Mao got a hold of the people and hasnt let go yet, and he is another dead 'eternal' president.
Rambled on a bit there lolz, a simple history lesson, thats all!
