New OS leaks are quite a common thing – in most cases, they are just the spark to ignite the users’ anticipation – a kind of a quick peek at what Microsoft is working on.
Within the last years, the software giant has been from time to time openly bothered by the numerous leaks of its products. Sometimes, Microsoft itself has been suspected at using leaks to promote its software, and today the new “release” concerns the new OS, Windows Blue, which since last week can be found on file-sharing portals.
It seems that the 2.63GB ISO file is believed to have been released by one of the company’s French service partners. That’s what this leaked version reveals: nowadays users of Windows 8 are able to access the File Recovery feature, though it takes a little digging to find it. The option can be found in the Control Panel under “All Control Panel Items” and lets users to back up their files to an external drive. This feature is expected to be removed from the next release.
Another novation is said to be Microsoft pushing most of the PC settings controls from the desktop to the new Modern UI overlay, including settings for SkyDrive, Network, Time & Language, Apps, Accounts, Update and Recovery. As you can see, the desktop is being eased out going forward.
In addition, the leaked update also showed a handful of new application, such as Alarms, Movie Moments, Calculator, and Sound Recorder. Moreover, you can also find a new updated Snap mode which allows opening two apps side by side, each taking half the screen, while currently each takes up 75% of the screen. Snap mode may even accommodate up to 4 apps at a time.
The leak revealed the ability of Windows to manipulate the size and arrangement of tiles, and to name Start Screen groups without having to switch to semantic zoom mode. This build even offers users the ability to customize the desktop’s background and color schemes right from the blocky Modern UI. Finally, the OS carries a functional copy of Internet Explorer included in the leaked ISO, but at the moment there’s no information about the updates to the browser. Hopefully, the Internet browser will be improved.
Microsoft is expected to make Windows Blue available in a few months as a preview. The official release is scheduled for the end of 2013.

LOL wtf. Microsoft just isnt learning. THERES A REASON WHY WIN 8 FAILED RETARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windows 8 failed ?? works very good for me
Did they not include firefox or other browsers? Weren't they sued before for only including their browser?

Told y'all the desktop was gone. That's why I'm staying with Windows 7 or linux, lol.

There's an old saying 'If you don't study history, you're destined to repeat it' ... Microsoft obviously ignored what happened with Windows ME, and Windows Vista, and now they've repeated it with Win 8!
There's SEVERAL reasons why Windows 8 hasn't met Microsoft's sales expectations.
1) It was only 3 years between the release of Win 7 and win 8. Just long enough for us to change over and begin to like it, then they release a NEW version!
2) Windows XP performed exceptionally for ELEVEN years (2000-2011) before support was suspended. Why shouldn't Win 7 last at least 6 or 7?? (I still know people & companies using XP for their desktop OS )
3) THE INTERFACE SUCKS! It was designed with MS's new Surface Tablet in mind, then they screwed it up and released it for desktops.
4) If you are using a PC, then the Start Screen UI is pretty much superfluous. It just adds unneeded services to the system, and absorbs system resources.
5) They removed the start button from the desktop!! (bastards!)
6) Human nature dictates that people just don't LIKE too big of a change ... in ANYTHING. This was too much change, too fast, which results in people rejecting it!
Overall there were MANY mistakes in the TIMING and SCOPE of the Win 8 release. If they wanted a new all-encompassing OS, they should have done similar to the Win NT (NTFS)/Win95 (32bit) OS's they had ... converge them over several iterations till you get to XP. If they'd started a new branch with Win8 for Tablets/ TC Laptops, and gradually changed it for desktop use, there wouldn't have been anywhere NEAR as much animosity as Win 8 has engendered.
rite u are crash1! their policies and approaches remind me of the titanic and its demise (may god rest the victims souls)

I totally agree with Crash1.
I had Win 8 on my new P.C I was willing to try it out and but hated everything about it so I downgraded to Win 7 and that is where I'm staying forever if they keep being so stupid
Yes, I also agree with Crash1. Looks like MS has a few cockroaches in their basement, one manage to escape, again.
And a lot dripped outside the bowl,
and will become windows crap,

i use win 8 and am very happy with it, just add start 8 and modernmix and you cant go wrong,
i even got the old details pane at the bottom of explorer back, i toggle it for space but there is no messing about with it on the right of a window any more .
very reliable OS, a lot of the hate is toward the metro start, considering 8 is built on the windows 7 kernel then there shouldnt be the issues folks have with it, which makes me think a lot of the hate comes from people who havent tried the rtm properly,

win 7 fixed alot of issues i had with xp. crash1 is so right....when i went to fix my first customers win 8 machine i couldnt find the start button for 5 minutes. lmfao

not beyond making a world novelty style known as any new car.
i still use xp on desktop it works great why change it
@HiDefHQ, I totally agree with you. Windows 8 carter more towards the tablet and
phone OS, which turns off lot's of people, let alone the touchscreen part which
nobody I know still don't have one or just can't afford it. That's why Windows 7
still the number 1 operating system. So wonder why Windows 8 not selling.

Absolutely right COMPRENDeDEFUNCT. I'm also thinking that why people hate win 8 too much, and of course win 7 is good one on the basis of which win 8 is made. I use win 8 pro 32-bit and its working perfectly on my PC with delighted with absolute fine graphics, speedy and less filled temp folder. I accept this change of win 8.. Looking forward for win 8 blue...
Thanks sam for info........
Update on Story:
Windows Blue is leaked online and nobody is downloading it!
Okay maybe a few will just to poke a stick at it, realize they miss their previous OS and revert.
Win7 = Beauty
XP = Beast
Ubuntu/linux = awesome open source all free and great for regular PC functions and networking - but doesn't have support for ALL softwares... yet(?).
@ YoMammaSoFat (2013-04-13 04:08:55)
no, that is NOT the reason..
Windows Blue? Just like Windows 8 it should be titled Windows Blew, or Windows Blows. Bring back the desktop interface I am tired of see a bunch of ugly blocks on screens. If I wanted this crap I would simply have bought an android tablet instead of a PC.

Proud PC/Laptop and XP user here, heheheehee.
If I want a tablet, I'd grab an Alkaseltzer.
Until PCs become totally extinct, folks like me
will always rescue old PCs outta da trash and
play with them for our tweaking and geeking pleasures.
Micros#t can do whatever they want pimpin new OSes;
but I'll stick with a stable OS that has always
served me reliably well.

Crash1 is 'spot on' I tweeted during the beta phase of Windows 8 'Useless for desktop systems' probably ok for mobile devices. I am sticking with Windows 7 and Linux Mint.
Crash1 has it right. I will add that Win8 has a better tracking system and runtime API all options that are good for Microsoft only. This week I had to use the recovery system with Win7 and Mr. M.Soft managed to print that your document are untouched but the truth is that they have deleted only those they did not like. Shame for them I have the back up, and the back up of the back up. Plus they managed to take away my favorite app. "Ghostery" that keep their hands off me when I browse with Opera ...reinstalled immediately. To me they just a bunch of looser, Linux will be soon my next system.

NorthenLight99 talking about it! Windows 8 with IE10 work very very good and if you add Opera browser helps when IE10 have the slow time of waiting security packs to start work hard again booting little more of usual. it the 64-bit combine browsers for me the best of best in this present. my Windows 7 never work good with Opera browser at long time desktop. Also, It looks like windows changes are not to difference using Metro like another file manager and Windows 8 "Refresh" save files to fix any problem in Windows.old files to you reinstall later. to whom try windows 8 pro can see reliable O/S.

I run Win 8 64 bit. I have set it to boot to the desktop, and added a start button. I haven't seen the Metro UI for months. The OS is very, very stable, and very, very fast.
"Crash1" doesn't know what he's talking about, and neither do any of his supporters.
If you can manage the very simple task of setting up Win 8 to look and run like Win 7, you'll find you have a much better desktop PC. However, if those tasks are beyond your ability, maybe you are better off staying with XP or Win 7.
