BitTorrent Inc. is seen to really go further with its intentions to turn into a fully legitimate business. For example, the company believes that “Game of Thrones”, the most famous TV series on P2P networks in 2013, should be watched on HBO.
BitTorrent not only dismantles the idea that the series is the most popular video on the network, but also points out that piracy actually happens outside the BitTorrent ecosystem. Its representatives stressed out that they don’t host infringing material, nor do they point to it. In other words, it’s literally impossible to illegally download content on BitTorrent, because a person who wants to pirate stuff needs more than just a protocol. For instance, they need a search, a pirate video site and a content manager, while BitTorrent offers none of those things. So, people using BitTorrent for piracy are doing it wrong.
It seems that BitTorrent Inc. is definitely trying to make peace with Hollywood. Thus far, it is known that the company signed a deal with Cinedigm. However, the contract’s progress is slow because of the company’s “fabricated” image. Recently, Public Enemy, one of the popular hip-hop bands, also signed with BitTorrent. The company claims it doesn’t endorse piracy and doesn’t tally up unauthorized downloads. However, these kinds of stories give it the opportunity to tell the truth about what’s going on inside the company.
BitTorrent reminds that in partnership with the Internet Archive, musicians, labels and studios, they have made over two million pieces of licensed, legitimate content available for download over P2P protocol. The company has built a legit media ecosystem meant to close the gap between artists and fans. Over last year, titles from that collection have been downloaded more than 152 million times.
In the meanwhile, it turned out that “Games of Thrones” wasn’t the real king of BitTorrent. The company found out that with over 8.5 million downloads, the most downloaded video of the current year via BitTorrent was Epic Meal Time – a show published into the system willingly and legally by the creators themselves.
As for piracy itself, it is really happening outside of the protocol – BitTorrent is only the pipes that material moves through. One should agree that you can’t rip a DVD with BitTorrent technology and it doesn’t host or promote any infringing material.

Nice to see them standing up for themselves. Blaming BitTorrent for piracy is like holding radio stations responsible for kids taping music. Of course they would never do that because the media moguls who own the radio stations tend to be heavy investors in copyrights themselves.
its a bit like saying gun's don't kill people. people kill people. but they still sell guns and ammo.
So BitTorrent being paid off by Hollywood
and going mainstream, not surprising.
Oh, and piracy been around way before they
even had torrents. Remember the old FTP, lol.

piracy went on before the internet. oh of course you could never get a copied movie before broadband could you? splitting hairs and claiming no illegal content by bittorrent is just a way to stay open for a while. the big movie etc companies will buy all the stuff to block us all... for a while anyway not forever

Thers also likely more lawsuites bout "intellectual Property" between them than against all pirates together.
