The recent court ruling on the case of WikiLeaks whistleblower Bradley Manning, who allegedly made classified content public, said that the charges against him, which could result in the most serious charge (aiding the enemy) were dropped.
Bradley Manning could face a lifetime prison sentence without parole if convicted of aiding the enemy. Media reports confirmed that defence lawyer David Coombs argued before judge Colonel Denise Lind that Bradley could only be found guilty of negligence rather than of “general evil intent”, or of having knowledge the content would get to the enemy.
In response, the court-martial prosecution pointed out that Bradley’s training as an intelligence officer assumed that he perfectly knew the leaked material would be accessed by terrorists. The defence is asking the judge to dismiss the greater offence, whether he knowingly exceeded authorized access, punishable by a 10-year jail sentence in case of being found guilty. It argues that there should be a distinction between access and use restrictions. At the same time, the defence acknowledges that Bradley Manning may have violated user restrictions. However, this doesn’t constitute a breach of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

bradley manning is a hero, he has more back bone in his body than most of all the population of america has...
its about time people woke up and realise they aint living in the land of the free, its the land under a dictator....
I agree with jumbo71 thats exactly what it is, the first thing dictators do is quash freedom of speech that is coming about by the back door, thats why the constitution is supposed to guard your civil rights but lying polititians always use the back door as do ours, would you trust a polititian hell no i would,nt.
<---not insane , so don't lockup people who break the law openly ? I know America has its problems and corruption but hey doesn't every country? as an American I cant complain....id rather live in the land of the FREE than anywehere else on this planet....I just don't see how people say hes a hero for leaking classified information which he was trusted with as his job?

"Leaking classified information" -That'd be the same information leaked that showed a helicopter gunship firing on, and killing illegally under the articles of war, a journalist and children, an act which would be deemed "terrorism" or "a war crime" by the US media in pursuit of the reasons to commit acts of the same but which the US authorities tried to bury? Hmmm...traitor or advocate of the truth? Please remember that the US still refuses to acknowledge the Hague War Crimes Convention nor would it acknowledge the right of any other country or group of countries to try any US military under any Sovereign or International war crimes jurisdiction. The phrase "do as we say not as we do" is one worth remembering here. Shall we discuss why the atomic bombs were dropped or go with the media/political excuses??
He's a HERO. And i think that this greyidiot is with the US government.

greymongel if you live in the land the FREE, why why is the U.S the number 1 in the world for incarceration?
|because of our lousy drug laws eddy.....most all people currently incarcerated in the us are on drug charges, I agree with you on that eddy for sure, the "WAR ON DRUGS" in the US has been a failure and a joke for a longtime. but if your a law abiding citizen its still a pretty great country to live in IMO.||
