UK ISPs have been recently ordered to block subscribers from accessing another couple of file-sharing websites - EZTV and YIFY Torrents. The reason is of course copyright infringement. The two portals were alleged of providing Internet users mass access to illegal material by entertainment industry groups, including the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT).
EZTV, as you might have already guessed, is a TV torrent website. YIFY Torrents positions itself as the service offering high-quality DVD rips. Movie industry has won a High Court order a few days ago which is yet to be published, but will take effect soon. The order in question follows efforts by the two outfits to contact the owners of both websites.
Representatives of anti-piracy organizations explained that they wrote to EZTV in June and asked the service to stop infringing creative material. The outfits pointed out that the website provided access to copyrighted content on a massive scale, without permission from the rights holders. However, the industry hasn’t received any response and decided to take further action against EZTV through the courts.
UK Internet service providers already restrict access to the world’s largest BitTorrent tracker The Pirate Bay. In addition, back in June they had to prevent their subscribers from viewing a football streaming service.
The moves follow wider industry efforts to target file-sharing portals beyond ISP blocks. Thus far, largest tech companies (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo) have already agreed to ban adverts from piracy websites at the behest of the American government, thus drying up one source of revenue. At the same time, payment services like PayPal have also started to freeze funds in accounts belonging to unauthorized file-sharing websites.

An inconvenience - but proxy services negate the effect of the 'ban'.

UK is conservative party. I was wondering what happened to eztv but wasn't too worried as I can still get all their ups on here as well as yifys. As a few have said tf for proxies, I can get anything I like from anonymouse.me. We Brits like to make fun of Obama but that dick Cameron makes us the pot calling the kettle black lol the amount of stupid things he is trying to impose has him banging his head of the wall a lot, he's bound to be brain damaged by now.
thankssss fo share ic3m4l3 bro, now if blockd in India I use dis, very gr8
I cant quite suss why EZTV was a target. It doesn't share music or movies and in many instances people watching the TV and documentaries will already have access to them as theyre just mainstream TV shows broadcast over sky, cable or normal TV so it seems kind of nuts
In a logical world TV only sites would be the last ones to be bothered with and might even have been worth ignoring all together as they take some of the stain off sky, virgin, BT and the terrestrial channels on demand servers
USA`s corporate overlords must be greasing the palms in the House of Parliament well these days since after this countries stand against the corporate plans from trans pacific partnership and other acts to control the internet and sites our own government has used the gracie card to do just as they wanted in the first place. We all knew it was coming and when my contract is up I will be getting myself a laptop and war driving my torrents for free as I for one am not happy paying for everything when I am all ready paying for 60 GB unlimited download and expect to have the right to do just that and Download anything, anytime and anywhere I want,Corporate Fascists.
virginmedia blocked EZTV, on finding this out i had found the alternative proxy site and was happily downloading tv programmes within about 2 minutes, so a totally pointless move by virgin and the uk government..i don't see my downloading tv programmes as an issue as i pay for virginmedia and we have freeview so all the episodes i download will be shown on tv at somepoint, i'm just watching them earlier...like the latest season of walking dead has only just started here on free to veiw, but i watched the whole season by end of March by downloading from EZTV..
Wondering how much it costs each time a visit to the high court is needed. I know of 3 eztv proxies and of course Tor.
THEY ARE BANNING EZTV AND TELLY TORRENTS DUE TO PRESSURE FROM SKY VIRGIN MEDIA AND BT ....THEY WANT YOU TO PAY FOR THE PRIVILEDGE TO WATCH TV..........AS*(&*^&% HOLES

For any of you in the UK facing problems accessing torrent or tv streaming sites. I have found that the firefox plugin available at solved all my problems. You dont need to make any changes to your connection settings either. Just turn it on or off as the need arises.
Hope it helps
