The experts confirmed that handwriting skills have progressively dropped with technology increasing communication speeds. For example, the observers noticed a dramatic downturn in the legibility of handwritten court documents.
In addition, the experts admit that the loss of handwriting skills “comes at the price of a rotting of the mind”. Texting is believed to be part of the problem, as people have lost the knack of writing long sentences. As a result, people are not using their minds but instead are relying on technology which can decide for them.
The experts point out that cursive writing uses mental and physical processes that involve both left and right side of the brain. However, cursive writing decreases with technology becoming the most dominant means of communication. Indeed, typing or texting is only a matter of punching and finger-moving, where people don’t care much about doing any thinking because they are not allowing their brain to form neural processes.
According to a 2012 study, 33% of people experience difficulty with reading their own handwriting. For example, Docmail, a British printing and mailing firm, has revealed that 30% of participants hadn’t been required to produce something in handwriting for more than six months. It turned out that updating calendars, phone books and reminder notes is more likely to be done without even using a pen or a pencil. Moreover, over 50% of participants admitted that their handwriting was poor.

The current generation of teens (the ones who live and literally die texting and updating their FB and Twitter accounts) has lost the ability to construct and understand long sentences, irony and any sense of proper grammar. They also lack any meaningful reading skills and basic cultural knowledge (a girl talking about the Titanic as "it's only a movie, nobody died in real life" just kills me). What will happen when the engineers and designers that create today's computers, cellphones, tablets and software... just die of old age?. Who of them will be able to take their place and create something new?.

I absolutely agree with, not only the findings in the article, but also with #1, #5, #6 and #7. I only logged in because poor grammar is a pet peeve of mine (my own notwithstanding) and I could not in good conscience go on without pointing something out from a couple of the previous posts.
I believe Rockstar meant to type; "You can't stay good...", "I can't believe how they can't put..." and "They're not even looking up and we're there walking and...".
Sadly, I must admit my own hand writing skills are not what they once were either.
That is all.

Torrents ruin handwriting
Texting seems to ruin the ability to write whole words, never mind affecting handwriting. However, I urge you all to do as I do, if anybody sends me a text in text speak I send it back and tell them to rewrite it in English (or the relevant language). Obviously friends/family with dyslexia are forgiven for their misspelling, as well as poor grammar for anyone, it is only a text after all haha. But, I have always had bad handwriting it is clear and legible, I don't use cursive as I never could make it look nice. And what do they expect? They teach it in schools yet the majority of the work is then typed and submitted electronically, so outside of the lesson, it isn't utilised anyway. It's the same for us as adults, or at least no longer in school, when was the last time you actually had to hand write more than a few sentences, even then it was a probably on a form and therefore needed to be in block capitals. I don't think it's the handwriting that should be considered, it is the spelling and grammar.
This article has nothing to do with the torrent world. Interesting though.

|People being TOO LAZY to type out entire words, use punctuation, and not bothering with sentence structure is the reason, plain and simple.||
