Julian Assange is known worldwide as a founder of WikiLeaks and is currently living in Ecuadorian embassy in London to avoid being extradited to Sweden and facing questioning about alleged sex offences.
Back in 2012, Assange announced that despite his inability to go outside he would still be fighting for a seat in Aussie election. However, Australian voters were for some reason underwhelmed by his winning personality and comedy electioneering, and Assange failed to get enough votes to receive a seat in the Victorian senate. The results showed that the WikiLeaks Party had just a bit over 1% of the vote, ironically trailing behind the “Australian Sex Party”.
Local media reports point out that Assange lost out to the rather obscure special interest party the “Australian Motoring Enthusiasts Party” and compare this to losing to the Silly Party. In the meantime, industry observers admit that Julian’s election campaign was a cock-up from the very beginning. Not only did he run a series of unfunny ads trying to do a Justin Beiber to John Farnam's the Voice, he also put right wing nutjobs on its voting ticket. This move has seriously hurt the party’s credibility with its more left wing base, and some campaign staff even decided to resign over the move. Assange later admitted it was a mistake, but apparently it was too late.

“Australian Sex Party" ?? guess they couldn't be any worse than republicans or democrats (probably much better the more I think about it)
"currently living in Ecuadorian embassy in London to avoid being extradited to Sweden" and yet he can try for office??? how is that even possible.

It's funny how Julian is happy to hide in the Ecuadorians embassy and call the other members of Wikileaks that are on the run heroes, that's the one that is either hiding in Russia, or the one facing life in prison for espionage, great leadership qualities Julian, good to see you step out and stick up for them. If you've done nothing wrong, and you didn't molest or rape the women that are accusing you, you should have nothing to worry about. Step outside the embassy and stop wasting all the tax payers money. But if you have done the wrong thing, whether it be sex offences or leaking classified documents, you should have to wear the consequences. if your lucky instead of being water boarded you may just have to be some big murderers bride in prison for a while. You've managed to get up enough peoples asses with all your selfish ways, maybe its time someone got up yours.

@morally bullshit! hes not a diplomat
Why do you think I asked the question "Any Aussy here know how that might work on his behalf if elected." dipshit. Hypothetical if Julian were to work on behalf of the government in some form and the government gave him diplomatic credentials to do his job, he could now be a diplomat. I don't profess to know the Ausie political system, so I did the next best thing and asked, dipshit.
Lets look at the facts, Sweden wont guarantee that he wont be extradited to USA authority's
The USA wont guarantee that they wont apply to extradite him.
All governments need to do is state they will guaranteed that then I'm sure he will happily go to Sweden to answer to the allegations.
And last but not least,The USA is guilty of lots of crimes against its own people and the rest of the world.
We need people like Julian Assange and Snowden to expose the so called guardians of the free world, and that's a FACT.
