John McAfee, referred to as computer software pioneer, has recently admitted that he would show up in court to be questioned about the murder of his US neighbor in Belize in 2012. As you might know, the family of Gregory Faull is suing McAfee for wrongful death.
Belize authorities named John McAfee, 68, as a person of interest a year ago, shooting, but John fled the small Central American country before he could be arrested. McAfee denied any involvement in the Faull’s death. At the same time, he told Reuters that he wouldn’t fight a subpoena for deposition in the lawsuit and was ready to talk to the court about the case.
John claimed that it is all right for him to show up in a court of the United States to defend himself. McAfee also told the Belize police that they are free to question him in any neutral country in the world – just not in Belize. So, the lawsuit in the US District Court in Orlando accuses the company’s founder of shooting Gregory Faull in the head or having him shot. The lawsuit also names two of John’s former girlfriends, Samantha Vanegas and Amy Herbert, as McAfee’s potential agents in the murder.
The family of Gregory Faull wants a jury trial and damages in excess of $75,000 on behalf of his 26-year-old daughter. In response, McAfee told the reporters that he will file a counter-claim against Faull’s estate for defamation of character and personal injury.

what a douche bag
plus McAfee virus software is garbage way to screw everyone over then murder them
He didn't kill anybody. If you've ever listened to the guy you know this is probably retaliation for when he gave senators and spooks Ipads etc...and they used them...without even checking to make sure they were secure. He totally handed them spyware to their facces, they used it, had no idea, and he made them look like idiots when he let the cat out of the bag.
well sad sofat..
I like to add it is a very bad software for mobiles and pc, I hope he goes to jail. The software was not so unquie to the rest of the internet protection software I come across.

Who is the real John McAfee? He's the man who went on the run after his neighbour was found dead, face-up, with a bullet in his head. He's the man who jump-started the multibillion-dollar anti-virus industry. And now he thinks he can make you invisible on the internet.
Within tech circles he's long been a legend. But for most people, McAfee came to prominence last year when he fled his Central American home - teeth stained, hair dyed, in disguise - rather than let himself be questioned by authorities he accused of being corrupt.
"...he fled his Central American home - teeth stained, hair dyed, in disguise - rather than let himself be questioned by authorities..."
In all fairness, if I were to piss off the Pentagon so much that they tried to frame me for murder, I probably wouldn't talk to "authorities" either and I'd also wear a disguise. Maybe he killed the guy, maybe not. The reality is that when people anger the establishment they sometimes wind up like the DC Madam or shooting themselves multiple times in the head. So this idea that it's suspicious or indicative of guilt just to run from 'authorities' is absurd.
Maybe he did it because he's paranoid for no good reason. Maybe he fled because he's got good reason to be paranoid. But chances are that a prominent guy like this isn't going to just shoot somebody and flee the country. A wealthy, smart guy like his is more likely to hire a hitman or at least dispose of the body or something rather than just killing someone and fleeing. Not saying it's not possible. Just that it's rather odd/unlikely.

#12 Well said.
Sum up all that i want to write. Smart and very wealthy guy like him will not dirtied his hands. I'm sure he got plenty of people to do that for him. It smelled like a trap for me.
On the other hand, his AV are inferior to other AV out there IMHO.
Before you judge John McAfee, you should watch his interview with Alex Jones in Infowars.com. You can also view this interview in Youtube. He had to escape out of the country for his life. Living in a third world country to retire is not all bliss. You have to deal with corrupt government officials and laws that no way protect its citizens. Research the subject first and hear it from horse's mouth before judging.

McAfee came on my machine for free.
Deleted it the first day and saw a huge performance increase.
Don't know or care if he killed anyone, but his software kills performance.
