Apparently, Google decided that it should have security by obscurity and bought shedloads of Apple’s expensive Macs. The search giant finally understood that Windows has no potential. Today Google employees don’t use Windows PCs, and this business case makes the company the world’s biggest Apple customer who bought 43,000 devices.
Now Google seems to be expanding its plans to dump the corporate network model for something a little more zero trust. The industry experts said that it was important to get rid of the idea that there existed a kind of network perimeter. While you are guarding it, you discover that firewalls and other gatekeeper instruments relying on a perimeter just don’t help.
The plan is that the search giant would authenticate and authorize users only after their machines have been verified as belonging to Google and as being in a secure state. The company uses a so-called “meta-inventory” – it is connected to upstream inventory sources and provides an interface for authorization whenever user attempts to connect.
While most companies use an inventory as a data dump which no one looks at to find out whether the information is correct, Google went through a cleaning to ensure accuracy and issued certificates to all authenticated users. Of course, this move caused a few headaches to systems management and latency as legacy systems like synchronous network attached storage had to be swapped to asynchronous cloud models.
The advantage of non-Windows OS is that once an intruder gets through the certificate structure, they have to speak Mac. And this makes life very difficult for malware and other stuff designed for the PC. The only question is why doesn’t Google use Chrome, which is even more obscure and network oriented?

Of course, there's million more of PC users than
Mac users. Its funny that having a Mac makes you
cool or the cool thing to do. Yeah right, after
paying $3,000. Half that price, a computer literate
person can build their own ultimate super PC with
top notch parts and graphics with Linux OS that
could outrun a Mac any day. To bad most mac users
are not computer savvy.

I have to partially agree with ZerlindaX. I'm a physician, and a Macintosh user since 1984. Also a PC (and by PC I don't imply Windows) since 1981. OS/2, Solaris... you name it. Been there, done that. Right now I'm using Ubuntu for every day business task, OS X for media mastering (professional video editing and medical apps) and audiovisual consumption... Windows just for gaming (nothing can beat a well tuned gaming rig). I've been playing lately with a Chromebook just for kicks. Ditched Microsoft Office ten years ago (right now I use only LibreOffice between multitple OS). I'm a firm believer that you must use the right tool for every task. It's not about price, but reliability. Most Windows and Mac users I know are not power users, by far. Most people just buy stock Wintel machines, and seldom upgrade anything. They just get a new one every now and then, and ditch the previous one to the attic. Graphic cards are just about the only true difference in performance I've seen since 2009. Times are a-changing, and fast. Nobody expected that tablets and cellphones would predate PC sales. I didn't. Right now we pack more computing power in our pockets than our parents in their desktop machines. I'm sure not even the big companies like Google, Microsoft or Apple have any idea where are we going in the next decade. As for myself... I'm 43 and I hope someone comes up with a holodeck before I die.

LMFAO - really? The thing is "macs" were changed and use x86 cpu's so they can also run microcrap os AND Linux...
Truthfully "mac" is dying and Google is buying their apps up.
Mac/Apple has continually ignored the market and went their own way and do have a small and getting smaller rabid Mac Fan boy following.
case in point the iPhone; droid phones are kicking their buts in almost everything and even have cracks to run "droid" on a iPhone; that is if you want to...
I doubt Apple will pull their head out of that warm dark and smelly place to really take a good look at the market and do something about it; yet they won't.
They will continue to scream "I did it my way or the highway" as they swirl around and around into oblivion.

Ingenious! What it means for designers but why Google did not resolve to work on Windows computers if the majority of the public is also using Windows. So,PC gamers graphics Windows are the same price of Mac's fifteen thousand or more. Maybe Apple Apps are more soft rainbow with peanuts.

Not to cause an argument or anything but, let me say that it is VERY difficult to understand what those of you that don't speak English natively are trying to say when you attempt to translate your text from whatever language you speak into English. Something is most definitely lost in translation.
apples are the easiest os to hack. you could even take some windows bugs and cross ref over to mac and get the same effect. most people who use pc or macs don't know what they are paying for when they buy a mac! you could buy a high speed pc equal component wise to a mac, and the pc would run circles around the mac WITH ANY OS ON IT!
I'll stick to my Antikythera Mechanism for now!!!.. PC & Mac got nothing on it!.

If Google notes PC Windows was replaced it or some copy files by usb flash etc..like Windows bitlocker maybe you can see if you loose your Mac just in case at w3.youtube.com/watch?v=U4oB28ksiIo And how you locate it from another world. May be google it going to combine Windows/OS2 in Mac's like PC Windows can't do that because need owner Mac registration for have security! Of course some one's say yes but security from Apple don't enter like update.
