Privacy groups didn’t like the fact that a new feature in Google Gmail will allow receiving messages from people you haven’t shared your email address with. Recently the company has widened the list of contacts available to Gmail users to include the email addresses of existing contacts and the names of people on the Google+ social network.
A good thing is that you can send an email directly to friends or complete strangers using Google+, but the bad one is that a person who you may not want to know your email address will be able to have it by finding you in Google+.
We can see how Google has been increasingly trying to integrate its social network with 540 million active users with its other services. Now when you sign up for Gmail, you automatically get a Google+ account as well. The company claimed that these changes will make it easier for people to communicate with their friends. Google believes it will be helpful for those who forgot to actually exchange email addresses to connect. In addition, the developers pointed out that users who don’t want to receive email messages from other people on the social network can switch the settings manually. In this case they will receive messages only from people they have added to their networks of friends or from nobody at all.
However, some privacy groups continue to complaint that Google should have made the new feature “opt-in”, which means that people should explicitly agree to receive messages from other Google+ members instead of having to manually change the setting.

|There's gotta be a way to use YouTube WITHOUT having a Google account. Unfortunately, I have an audience at YouTube and thousands of views on my record there, after all the hard work with my video content... if I make any changes now, I have to start all over again at YouTube.|

|It is obvious where all this corporations are heading, and there is no stop to them. They want to control society by knowing every move everyone in the planet makes. They are doing this now a days anyways but is going to get a lot better for them and a lot worse for everyone of us that depend on technology on a daily basis. All this big corporations are collecting every little piece of information they can from every human being they can so they can control society, when you can control society you can control the world and that is exactly what they are after. Data mining is more valuable than gold and or any amount of valuables stored at any financial institution around the world. Just one example, ask your cell phone provider to send you all the information they have on your phone records (you might have to sue them)and you will see everything that you have done in the past 6 months. They know where you being, for how long, who you called, where you spend most of your time, where do you shop, where do you sleep and much much more. Why do you think all of them are so into social stuff? they are not lying to you, they are telling you they want you to be social lol. It is money in their pockets. In the mean time I'll try to hide under a palm tree in Aruba with a couple of six packs, and a liter of Don Q 151 proof.|
|Dont use Social networks. You don't need them. Meeting people face to face is much more beneficial to the human race than a glaring monitor.||
