The Federal Bureau of Investigation continues to believe that North Korea is responsible for the hacking of Sony Pictures, despite the criticism from the public, which doubts the FBI’s findings.
The FBI director pre-empted concerns of researchers that the involvement of North Korea was a smokescreen, saying they had evidence of the attackers’ IP addresses – the 12-digit string that identifies the location of a remote computer. Despite the fact that the attackers used proxy servers for most of the attack, they seem to have neglected the precaution in some occasions, thus revealing their own IP address, linking them to North Korea. In addition, the FBI reminds of its conclusion that patterns in the attack, including the language encoding and writing style, were similar to previous attacks attributed to North Korea.
Nevertheless, independent researchers remain very skeptical, because IP addresses are usually not hard to spoof, and even if they really point to North Korea, this evidence is not sufficient to blame the government of the attack. In addition, other assertions from the Federal Bureau of Investigation have also been criticized even before the agency made any claims. For example, the fact that the Korean language is used in some files connected with the attack cannot prove the involvement of North Korea, which uses a very different dialect of Korean from the South. Finally, the encoding language of a PC is easy to set manually with the purpose to confuse investigators.
Many independent security researchers point out that although it’s possible to identify the origins of cyber attacks (like it was with many of the Chinese attacks against American networks), it requires months of detailed analysis and investigation. This time period is useless at the moment of attack, when the company has to decide very quickly how its network should react and how its country is going to react. Perhaps, this stance can explain the relative disarray within the Obama administration over what to do about the suspected attacker (North Korea). Indeed, one should admit that the officials in the American government and various international institutions just don’t have the legal or conceptual framework to tackle such types of scenarios.

humm- most independent security analysis say it was an inside job most likely one of the recent 2500 employees that were laid off
First of all I am not against any USA citizen (if hey act as it should be)
Next: I am not against any muslim, jew or north Korean "dictator'
well I will tell you exactly how it was.
USA needs keep making wars to get what they interest is and just see this: " if you still not understand, I recommend you to read your daily newspaper manipulate by some groups of ppl.
If you made shit, and you scare what you do? Will you say to your daddy you made at school shit or will you say to your dad another lie to protect your shit?
If you want someone girlfriend you will found the guy and tell him that you saw her kissign another boy, at least...
then USA gov make something to get involved in North Korean, well this is mainly knewn as old case, BUT hold on just a sec..WHY THE HELL they let Hollywood sakers to make that movie and make fun from Kim? Why they make fun from muslim god or messenger? Why and WHY thye keep shitting doing this?
I will tell you why..
The one who has all minerals in the world = king of the world.
..now look in goggle what all those countries has. Some of them has gold, some uranium as in Ukraine, some oil and so on...
Now I suggest to us citizens to make war and get the fak down their own govs, if you not do this in next few month or maxi 1 year, you will see what is going on to be...
The End..my friends, well some ppl very well know this in background of high politics and already declared if this USA will keep the most biggest thread against Russian and next Korean and also Syria this will put them very fast to self destruction, where finally we will pay for them and we gonna die and if we will be lucky then the movie "Elysium" will not come.
Thanks for posting this but in my opinion FBI and CIA are the real terrorists and only the ppl who lives there can stop them.
PS: I am not muslim or jewish, btw..
No point checking up ip address, probably north Korea will use vpn.
using VPN? heheh every VPN is a detectable IF CIA wants to, this WAS NOT a Korea this shit is same as 9.11!
wake up dude omg.
PS: If and only IF this was a Korea why do you think they made it just becouse of stupid movie? heheh LOL do you think they are so retarded in there?
If you stole your mother 5dollars on Monday you will NOT spend 5dollar on Monday in the front of your house, at least you stupid, but you wait till Friday.

Umm, did you mean "can" instead of "cannot". There is only thousands of years of history that uses dialects of language to conclude where it originated from... this statement would be accurate if the North and South dialects were the SAME, not different. The fact they are different could be supporting evidence. SMH
I'd agree its not able to prove on that alone, but it would be supporting evidence. Like one of several examples of proof put to the jury if it was a court room.

Indeed, an anarchist group in UK have been tracked, and the main one has been arrested.
There is also some connection with Sony itself.
However, that does not suit American plans for North Korea.
As discovered by Goebbels, and utilised by the Bush administration, if you just keep repeating something it will eventually be accepted, even though nobody can remember why.
Yes, USA has the most sophisticated cyber spying network on the planet, and a VPN is no guarantee. Plus it all got so much easier with the advent of android phones.
And yes, there is always a trail to follow, no matter how difficult. That is why several hacking/spying attacks supposedly by China were traced back to NSA (most notable I remember being the Huawei one. At the same time, we hear little about the spyware used by Apple/NSA that is built in at the factory

It is not arrogance that guides my fingers or my mind, no. There are some crazy arse imbecilic people on this website....just reading some of this made my brain ache for the shear stupidity of most posts..especially conspiracy nutters. What to expect though..what to expect. Reality is hard to comprehend when you live in a world of fantasy I suppose. Not that I don't question government, but some of the insanity posted here is just that..insanity. To see there are still 9/11 conspiracy nuts is disheartening.
Despite absurdity in type by people that know nothing, it is likely that the government is telling the truth in this case and that the trace led straight to North Korea. Chinese hackers likely did the actual deed, however. Who knows for SURE? One can only deal with proven facts....not the unsubstantiated nonsensical conspiracy pablem from someone's mind. Facts, pieces of facts and LIES all pieced together into something like an insane piece of modern mental artwork. It's amusing...it is like a cult to those that practice the conspiracy theory(almost any "theory" it doesn't matter WHAT it is about..it's always exactly the same). I've come to believe..lol.. that believing in something is a requirement for all Human Beings. No matter what it is...without belief in something bigger there is a hole left in the psyche. Amusing how little things change over time...how the human mind can be so easily led astray from the path of Logic and real Truth. There were conspiracy minded individuals in the 19th-20th century as well and as far back in history as can be seen. The state of mind has never been short for some in society to stray into the realm of fantasy..the realm of self or societal created conspiracies. Go on internet warriors preach your conspiracies...praise your new faith. It is the same. It's all the same. Always. Disturbing. Disheartening. Disgusting. Ah well...alas. Troll away.

Eat acid and die you stupid mofo. Bin Laden planned it and there is plenty of evidence including himself stating so.
Now if you mentioned yellow cake in Iraq, you'd have a point. But to make an argument for Bin Laden, you should be raped daily. Piece of ish.

Top US government insider Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik, a man who held numerous different influential positions under three different Presidents and still works with the Defense Department, shockingly told The Alex Jones Show yesterday that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001 and that he was prepared to testify in front of a grand jury how a top general told him directly that 9/11 was a false flag inside job.

I think it makes a lot more sense that Sony itself would be the perpetrators, they are the ones losing money and asking the government for help fighting piracy. And for the government, what better way to justify the violation of our privacy than to cry 'national security risk'.
I think the most disturbing revelation is how clueless the very powerful FBI actually is. They will frame someone to make their story seem true, mark my words on that. When you factor in what could be done with the NSA data it could make the current sci\fi horror stories seem like children's fairytale of a utopia. Not saying that will happen but it could be far worse than anything we've dream up to this point.

Holy crab some of the ignorance makes me angry. People who think that Sony could have "masterminded" this against themselves are lacking an awesome lot of facts, the same as the conspiracy nuts still going on about 9/11 being an inside-, government-job.
Here are some facts that I find it impossible not to take a closer look at:
1: Sony got hacked, and their emails are spread on the web, but not immediately any Sony movies.
2: Media starts speculating that it has to do with North Korea. Hacker messages to Sony employees start to referring to North Korea only after that speculation.
3: Shortly thereafter, Xbox Live and PSN is hacked/massbot-ddos'ed for christmas, and Kim Dotcom publicly offered the hackers upload vouchers for Mega if they stopped.
4: Within two hours of "Lizard Squad" accepting Dotcoms offer, The Interview along with other Sony/Columbia movies were available from Mega. (I know because that's where I found it)
5:Sony states that they won't release The Interview in theaters due to a lack of cinema interest, then reverse their position based on public feedback, then also decide to release the movie digitally.
Proposed possible conclusion:
Hackers hacked Sony. Media speculated that it was North Korea. Hackers took advantage of this and pretended to be north korea. Someone involved with the Sony hack was also in or had relations with someone in Lizard Squad, and gave them copies of the Sony Movies. That person or persons uploaded the movies when Lizard Squad got upload vouchers.
It makes absolutely no sense for "North Korea" to hack Sony in an attempt to stop The Interview without sabotaging digital copies. It makes even less sense for the hackers to distribute it freely online, if they wanted to stop it. If it had been North Korea.
Lizard squad getting upload tokens for The Interview to be immediately uploaded is too big of a coincidence to just ignore. It COULD be a coincidence, but the chance is freaking tiny.
|Embolism avatar The Norks are more likely to sue Sony for the defaming of and the misrepresentation of Kim Jong-un in the Interview than to attempt hacking Sony,it was the lizard crew using Telnet and botted routers,it is quite amazing that whenever the Americans are clueless it has to be the Chinese or the Norks spying or DDOS-ing them and since the attack was supposedly from a source external to the USA the NSA and CIA should be the spokesmen for such an exploit not a fed.||
