American tech industry groups have asked the president not to pursue policies able to weaken encryption. This move followed a new report suggesting that fear of government surveillance costs the economy over $35bn in revenue annually.
The Information Technology Industry Council and the Software and Information Industry Association, representing such tech giants as Apple, Microsoft, Facebook and Google, sent an open letter to the president, indicating that they are opposed to any policy measures that could undermine encryption, explaining that consumer trust in digital products and services is necessary to ensure economic growth.
The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation recently published the results of the study, which found that the American government’s failure to reform the NSA’s spying programs severely damaged the competitiveness of the US tech sector and cost it $35bn.
After Edward Snowden published the NSA secret documents two years ago, the US government has been unsuccessfully trying to justify its bulk collection programs. As a result, recently the USA Freedom Act was passed, which effectively ended bulk data collection, at least for now.
The letter was sent to Obama administration, US secretary of state, attorney general, homeland security secretary, secretary of commerce, FBI and National Economic Council. In the recent press briefing, White House press secretary was asked about the now-defunct act, which allowed the federal government’s bulk collection of data, but replied obliquely, saying that “the president saw an opportunity to work with the tech sector”.

|This is a popular topic, I thought everyone would talk about this, well, why don't they just create a different encryption instead of using what is given. here's our world of encryption... W876876H987987A90877T 576576A98798 6L987698O435543A567657D 878O453535F 54354C675765R876875A5876587P = WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. Mind you 171420 7 291623 411 6132028 = 1,7,14,20 7 2,9,16,23 4,11 6,13,20,28. Now we can plot to encrypt more, maybe pixel or picture? Just random with what's important, but hey 20g worth data makes time seem impossible for it to calculate. Header (type of information to program used) + Body (information and filler)+ end Comp commands of use. Have a nice day.||
