The extradition hearing of Kim Dotcom and his colleagues was due to end, but it is still ongoing, with no end in sight. After many months of delays and adjournments, the hearing recently continued, but without the MegaUpload founder present. The case on Dotcom’s extradition to the United States started off at a decent pace last month, but now it again appeared to slow down.
The court hearing, which will determine whether Kim Dotcom and three of his colleagues are extradited to the US, got underway last month, with legal argument persistently bogging the hearing down. The defendants repeatedly claimed that the American government does its best to prevent them from being able to afford legal defense.
First of all, Dotcom’s lawyer claimed that the seizure by the Unites States of the defendants’ assets made it impossible for them to hire expert witnesses in the US. Then he asked the court to consider submissions as to why the extradition case should be paused or even thrown out altogether.
Now the lawyers for the defendants are expected to make further submissions on additional points. This could take several more weeks to complete. So, right now nobody knows when the hearing will end, including Dotcom’s lawyers, who were asking the judge for an indication of how long the case is likely to last.
In the meantime, the MegaUpload founder has been absent from proceedings recently, after being present earlier. According to reports, Kim Dotcom has been suffering from back pain and didn’t show up in court for this reason, prompting relevant questions from the judge. Meanwhile, the hearing entered its fifth week.

|"Kim Dotcom Called in Sick from the Court"|
You're doing it wrong. What you wrote is that he called FROM inside Court, to somewhere else. What you meant was "Kim Dotcom Called in Sick to the Court"
Annnd he didn't actually "call in" sick.
