The BBC started blocking internet users from outside of the UK from accessing iPlayer. According to Torrentfreak, there are many reports from VPN users who can no longer access BBC iPlayer from several popular VPN services.
is an internet streaming catchup TV service for people in the United Kingdom and abroad. The service is available for a wide range of devices – phones, smartphones, laptops and PCs. According to BBC report
, iPlayer is watched by more than 65 million people using VPN. 38 million people – are users from China.
VPNs,or Virtual Private Networks
, have many, many uses – including allowing people outside the UK to stream video from iPlayer. You must be in the United Kingdom to watch iPlayer across the internet; using a UK VPN masks your true location, and convinces the BBC you're in the country and thus allowed to view iPlayer.
After the blocking, the most users see the following notice instead:
VPN providers' ban stops foreigners and expats from accessing the service, but it also affects license paying UK citizens who use a VPN to browse the Internet securely
Good news - Trust.Zone VPN
, an anonymous VPN service, founded by the part of ExtraTorrent community and recommended by ExtraTorrent
, is still able to access BBC iPlayer. Looks like Trust.Zone VPN
bypasses any BBC restrictions. Note that, Trust.Zone VPN
can be used up to three devices at the same time and has 5 days FREE test period.

bbc=big bloody con.
This is the internet. The internet is anti-world wide web. Do not confuse the WWW and the internet to be the same. They are very different. The internet is the commercialized and limited audience version of what used to be the WWW. A day will come when the majority of subscribers shall willingly choose to disconnect from "the internet" because the fad is over, the information on it has become outdated, and hardly anything from outside your area may be viewed because of regional restrictions. Confinement and control of information. Thanks, governments.
Our planet has only one problem - people!
BBC TV licence. Hopefully will soon become one of those things frowned about when ppl learn of historical peculiarities that have taken place in darker times - like right now for this outdated tax.
#2 Absolutely right. The governments have all our personal info, habits, etc. collected, now its time to shut 'er down. Gotta squash it before dissenters can organize.
If you think the BBC is or are a con what makes company like skye sat then, its cost much more and provides a lot less quality viewing. I rather pay the BBC fee than a company that charges a monthly fee and sells advertising, witch the BBC can not do! because of the licence fee thats how they fund the running of the company granted they do get things wrong but are reviewing lots of thing and are starting to clean house.
