A Head Full of Dreams, the band’s new album, was withheld from Spotify and made available on rival music-streaming services, such as Apple Music. Just like in Taylor Swift’s case, the band protested against the refusal of Spotify to restrict the album to its paying customers only. At the same time, Coldplay would not uncouple from Spotify entirely.
Last year, Taylor Swift was first to make a decision to remove her songs from Spotify, but she did so with her entire back catalogue. Coldplay’s spokesperson confirmed that the band’s new album is not yet on Spotify, but may be made available there very soon. Meanwhile, A Head Full of Dreams is already available on Apple Music, and Google Play Music has also announced to have it.
At the same time, the band didn’t declare a war on Spotify like Taylor Swift did: Coldplay’s back catalogue remains available on the service, as do singles from their new album. Coldplay have more than 16m monthly listeners on Spotify.
The industry observers point out that the popular music-streaming service may come under pressure from more major artists who follow Swift and Coldplay and ask Spotify to make exceptions for them and stop making all its music available to non-paying users. A year ago, Adele’s manager suggested that restricting some albums to premium subscribers only might solve some of the problem the service now experiences. He explained that the paying users are real active record buyers, and Spotify could solve the disputes with the artists by setting a window between making new music available on the premium service earlier than on the free service. As a result, Adele’s latest album is not currently available on Spotify.

I cant see the point in paying for any music service. 90% is the same music set to different words, and most of that is pure garbage.
thank god, they're awful...
Who cares, all can download that shit straight from YouTube or torrents!
the greed will kill them off.....i do not mind buying a cd or dvd but online services is pure greed.
apple and google need a serious non spying , non excessively greed driven service to challenge their monopoly of the media market.
and as far as ET is concerned, they are not charging me so i could not give a rats arse how much they are possibly making !
long live ET
And thats why the company's hate us so much. Enough to make it a no brainer for them to
