The first legal action was filed by a Seattle-based law firm PCVA against Apple, which is accused of deliberately “killing” its own smartphones if the customers have had them repaired by a third party.
PCVA confirmed it had brought a class-action lawsuit in the district court of the United States for the northern district of California. In the meantime, the tech giant has been facing a consumer backlash worldwide since it turned out that thousands of iPhone users had been left with permanently disabled handsets after installing the latest iOS update. The US was just the first country where the backlash transformed into action. In the meantime, a British barrister has said the policy may also be a criminal offence in the UK, and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission asked the company for an explanation and decided to investigate any breach of its consumer laws.
PCVA has filed a class action lawsuit, trying to get all the affected iPhone users re-outfitted with working smartphones while avoiding the overwhelming costs that they are now facing with “error 53”. We remind that the latest software update simply bricked the device in the case of detecting that the touch ID fingerprint recognition and/or the home button is not the original. As a result, people who had had their phones repaired by third-party contractors found it blocked and still can’t do anything to solve the problem. In the meantime, other victims had simply damaged their devices and in most cases those worked normally until the software update. Representatives of the local Apple stores admitted that nothing could be done to fix the bricked devices and that the affected customers would have to buy new ones.

Take that SHITpple.
If I buy anything worth more than $500 then it becomes my property and I can do anything with it. SHITpple is no one to force me to get it repaired from them only. They cannot even deny the updates as per the consumer laws worldwide, let alone bug the phone with an error. This is why Skynet(Alphabet) is the number 1 tech company now.
Shit like this is half the reason i'll never buy or own an Apple product... I despise the way Apple does business, from always wanting to control everything with their products, avoiding paying their fair share of taxes in every country, and using slave labor to make their over priced POS products which are designed to fail (batt life) after a set amount of time... I bet if Apple had it their way your phone wouldn't work past 10pm in your time zone because it's "past your bedtime" in Apple's eyes...
The only people that possibly can make out in this lawsuit are the lawyers. Unlike the poor asshat trolls that probably own $99 pay as you go android POS, someof us prefer a better product. Porsche makes a better car but you don't whine about having to buy a Porsche brand CPU for your 911 when it needs replacement. Oh wait, you can't afford a Porsche, or an iPhone, so you wouldn't know. Apple haters just have penis envy. Notice how the only whiners don't even have iPhones? This is a smart security measure as it prevents everyone from the government to your girlfriend from getting into your phone by replacing the touchID chip. Go back to masturbating to 1970's porn hippies.

ok broken and BRICKED are two different things
So because I dislike Apple and bought the Galaxy Curve instead I'm poor and don't know shi* about tech? I won't get personal on this one even though it would be so easy, but here's a thought... Friends who do have iphones or other apple products can't use them for more than a few years before apple brings out an update that essentially bricks them, or how 80% of ipods malfunctioned after 2 years. Difference is I will always be able to use my Galaxy and I can get it repaired anywhere by anyone at my discretion.
Also, why you hating on people who can't afford? Wait... do you have a 911???

I've had every iphone and ipod and I'm just sick of apple and their shit and now much I prefer my htc one m9. Just because people don't use apple products does not mean they cannot afford to, it's a personal preference, same way it's your choice to be an arsehole.
point made, I'm out.
Since your wanted to be a cool hip Apple fan, now
Apple own you, your iPhone and your money. No
wonder Apple's stocks are so high. Its bad enough
Apple have all types of stupid security, now you can't
