You don't need a VPN you just need opera and tick opera turbo.I've been downloading torrents for over 10 years in 2 different countries and not once have I received a copyright notice. All VPNs do is slow your internet speed and some websites don't even allow you to use them.Apart from opera just clean your internet history and recycle bin with Glary Utilities. You can remove Advertisements by installing Adblock plus for opera. If the police can arrest people watching child porn using VPNs they can see anybodys internet history.
crazyboy. Sounds like you have just been lucky unless you can DL torrents and movies etc with your Opera browser? (In other words Opera is your torrent client and not the likes of utorrent etc). And even if this is the case do you know Opera's policy in logging and disclosure to parties interested to get to know who you are because you were sharing copyrighted material. And do you know you're not getting a server in the good old US of A? I use PIA and never use USA servers for my torrenting.
Don't say those things.. Thats really bad advice.
That you advice people to clear their browser history to avoid legal troubles for downloading torrents tells us you REALLY have no idea how all this stuff works.
Here's some more bad advice...Use Trust.Zone vpn. Just from reading the first few on that list of reasons. I can say without a doubt that trustzone is not a good vpn. You still get targeted ads on every site and as far as getting every countries Netflix goes...You simply don't!!! All but 1or2 of their servers are blocked by Netflix. You can watch from east coast usa and that's about it.
hey opera developer is good vpn plus inbuilt adblock, live screen/wallpaper , speeddial is awesome no one comes near to that. smooth page scrolling.
i'm using hotspot shield elite valid till 2018 available on piratebay.org without paying a penny.
For people actually dumb enough to believe a VPN protects you.....

#7 No longer applies

#7 still applies. Not that it's dumb not to use it though. Depends on what Nazi country you live in. Microsoft opened it's windows 8 code like a smart phone. They can remotely access a lot of computers similar to activating a microphone on a cell phone turned off. And now that Microsoft is working with NSA it's all in focus now. They can't get you legally, so they try to get you illegally in countries where freedom still exists.

Only when someone is doing something bad are these HORRIFIC programs exposed! Hackers are the good guys every now and then.
@gypsywarrior, Trustzone team notified me that they changed ip address of their US servers and everyone can enjoy Netflix in the US now. If your problem is still not gone, try to play with settigns, change default VPN port to 443, 21 or 22 (see TZ client settings screen)
34. Although VPNs encrypt what is downloaded they are very much likely to know the websites you visit.

"4. Break free from advertisements."
Will it stop the browser hi-jacking to advertising that happens on this site?
I doubt it.
Or is that part of the master plan?
Push advertising on everyone so they'll spend money on your VPN?
Being truly anonymous on the internet is a myth.
Being "totally secure" on the internet is a myth.
Anyone that tries to tell you otherwise is a liar.
All these so-called VPN owners that tell you they "don't log anything" and "you are completely safe with our service" and "While using Anonymous VPN you will never receive any copyright infringement letters from your ISP" are full of sh*t.
For a start, some form of logging is required to maintain and optimise networks, limit connections, troubleshoot & even handle the basics, things like DNS requests.
Only a fool would pay someone to "think" they are safe while doing something illegal.
@spectator...Thanks for that. However US is the one country I could already get. It's Every other server that is blocked by Netflix. I reported the problem to them over 4 months ago and nothing was done until you tried. Now they have addressed the problem for the only country that was working as it should. At this rate my subscription will be up before I get to sample the rest of the world's Netflix. It's gonna be a tough decision wether or not to renew lol

Unless I missed something. Browsers, clearing cache, history, cookies don't do anything to change the server logs or the IP address in the server logs. All that does is clear out the data on the client side. On the server side, all servers keep logs (except VPN's) which contain exact data on the requesting IP and the specific URL the IP is requesting. That is the main reason to get a VPN.
What the VPN does is actually show the requesting IP as coming from a different server than the one you use through your ISP. The logs are very informative. They can show every requesting IP for every specific file on the server. There is sophisticated software that can analyze the logs and come up with what requesting IP is requesting patterns of URL's on the server. Be careful. All servers can see your requesting IP via their logs, and the exact URL you are requesting. VPN's don't keep their logs, so that information is not available.
Can anyone explain to me why a VPN has totally turned my DL speed to something like Dial-up (max 40kbs)... Is this VPN nonsense just another scam? The more i look into it, the more i find it looks hinky... All the poor speeling and bad grammar maybe should have tipped me off- but I just watched Citizenfour 2 days before i hooked up my internet after being offline for 2yrs.. thought it was neccessary, but i havent used it since i bought it and am having REAL DIFFICULTY trying to get refunded....
Severely unhappy with VPN
@Twiztidcrypt I'm not an expert by any means but maybe this will help. The way I understand it is that your VPN client sends all your data requests to whatever VPN server you're using where it is encrypted and behind a firewall. Then it is forwarded on to the target site and then returned (again through the VPN server) to your PC. So depending on your distance from the server, the data can have a pretty huge round trip. Not saying that would account for all the speed drop but it must contribute.
I've also been told by VPN providers that using a firewall on your own PC can cause problems in this area. It's recommended that you don't use one as their servers are all behind professional grade firewalls.
