|Peter Sunde, one of The Pirate Bay founders, targets Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music, Warner Music and EMI in order to demand compensation for damaging his name. Peter Sunde is ready to file a lawsuit against the music labels that were recently awarded damages for his involvement with The Pirate Bay. The record labels won a default judgment against Sunde, with the Helsinki District Court ordering him to pay $395,000 for music shared illegally through The Pirate Bay by its users.
Besides, Sunde faces an additional one million euro fine if the infringements continue in the future, despite the fact that he has no control over the site anymore. In the meantime, Peter Sunde didn’t share anything himself and hasn’t been involved with the tracker for ten years already. He claims he wasn’t even aware of the Finnish case until after the verdict was handed down, but now he is not going to let things go. In response, Sunde is hitting back with another lawsuit, accusing the record labels of defamation.
Peter Sunde is demanding compensation from the labels and believes that he has a strong case that will hold up in court. Perhaps, this lawsuit will put an end to the continued allegations against Sunde by various entertainment industry players. The recent default judgment can be appealed within 30 days, and then a retrial may follow.
Peter Sunde is currently focused on several art projects and continues his work for Flattr, along with various speaking gigs and media projects. Talking about The Pirate Bay’s current operation, he has been very clear, saying that the tracker has served its purpose and should have been shut down a long time ago.

I must disagree with that, as long as the trolls and their masters keep trying to squash sharing we will need a pirate bay.
|You have a fully functioning (lol) pirate bay right here, it's called ET "The place to be!" No fakes, no virus riddled crap, Just good old proper clean file sharing|
|Well said soup couldn't agree more|
|We need all the good P2P sites we can get.|

|For years and years I used only TPB all bc of the simplicity of it. & was the best place to find Channel Neos incredible collection of good music discography uploads of every great band from the 90s to now. Then I clicked on ET's username one day surfin torrents and came here. Haven't left since. I feel like traffic has definitely slowed on TPB. TPB will always be the face, symbol, home of the Torrent community as a whole, that's just my pov though.||
