uTorrent developers have quietly removed its widely used comment and rating features. The reasons are unknown, but most likely they were spam issues or legal concerns. The BitTorrent client accounts for more than 150 million active users per month and is the leading app used for BitTorrent file-sharing at the moment. However, the app hasn’t changed for a while now – in fact, some of the more prominent changes date back 5 years. This is when a commenting and rating feature was introduced, which allowed users to rate the quality of torrents and discuss their contents from within uTorrent. Thus, the comments and ratings were shared via trackers, which means that they were distributed among peers, as well as the download itself.
The feature was appreciated and used by millions of users over the past years, the but for some reason, the uTorrent team has decided to ditch it. Of course, it’s up to developers to decide what is better for the application, but the most interesting part is that users haven’t been informed about the change. The only reference to this fact was listed in the recent release log for the beta version. BitTorrent Inc. didn’t provide any explanation either. As such, the BitTorrent community has nothing else left than to speculate about the mysterious removal. Some suggested that BitTorrent Inc. decided that the feature was no longer relevant, while others believe that the system was flooded by spam comments.
In the meantime, the industry experts also suggest that there may be a legal reason why BitTorrent Inc. doesn’t want users to rate and discuss potentially infringing content from within uTorrent. Well, without an official comment from the company the users will never know the true reason, but at least it is clear that users willing to comment the downloads can no longer do so from within the application anymore. Hopefully, the developers will submit the reasoning in the later release.

The latest UTorrent release is full of bugs that crash your system. Avoid using it. Instead, revert back to one of the older ones (UTorrent 2.2.1). They are much safer

Nope sorry lts not here. They took mine down. Deleted by ET. This disturbs me.

I'm a Vuze person myself, can adjust the settings easily to suit your needs, and have never had any issues using it, unlike utorrent and bittorent that often crashed etc.
I have been using utorrent for I think 10 or more years. THERE'S A RATING AND COMMENTING SECTION!??
I really never noticed. I just download with it.

Why advertize on a torrent site? Back in the day ET advertized the desktop virtua girl. You can just download it anyway lol. Maybe they got rid of it cause there was no point in having it.
