|Fmovies.to has become quite popular worldwide within a few months after its appearance. The copyright owners were also quick to sue the service in a US federal court.
Today, there is a boom of illegal video streaming services, thanks to their relative ease of use. They are now more popular than peer-to-peer file-sharing and dominate the piracy arena.
Fmovies.to, together with the similar looking 123movies.to, has built a user base of millions of people since the beginning of 2016. Of course, they also faced problems with copyright holders: a few days ago, Fmovies.to and its owners were sued in a US federal court by the Philippine media conglomerate ABS-CBN and accused of unfair competition and multiple counts of trademark and copyright infringement, both direct or through the website’s users. The copyright holders claim that the streaming service has caused them substantial harm.
So far, the site operators are unknown. According to the media company, the domain names are registered anonymously, so the operators may be not from the US, but it argues that the court has jurisdiction over the defendant, because the website is operating in the United States.
ABS-CBN is seeking damages through the court case, and they may constitute millions of dollars. Besides, the rights owners ask for a permanent injunction to bar the operators from running Fmovies and seize the site’s current and future domain names that are used to facilitate copyright infringements.
By the way, Fmovies.to is not the first target of ABS-CBN, and recent history shows that the consequences can be severe: for example, in a default judgment in 2015, a US federal court ordered the operator of several small streaming sites to pay $10 million in damages to ABS-CBN.

They want to control and monetize the content and software. And keep it forever. And they did a number for years and years before torrents and streaming. We dealing with the Greed monsters who in restaurants and whereever if Happy Birthday is sang in public and they know of it and you have not paid for a license you are subject to suit. These guys would count the sand if they were the rightsholder of the beach. And penalize anyone who had even one grain of it stuck on their person when they left. They probably would use the Russian watchdog for that task.
Just keep watching that sidebar and if this place is still up we will read the worst news ever in it eventually.
But first 10 (Ten) 11-2006 and 11-2016

No, this is about corporations trying to use force of law to sustain their obsolete business models. RIAA, MPAA, NAB, etcetera are ALL obsolete.
This isn't 1916; we don't need to gather in one building to watch a movie.
This isn't 1926; there are hundreds of ways to deliver audio to customers and albums can be released without corporate involvement.
This isn't 1956; where all TV is doled out like treats because only the rich can afford broadcasting capability.
It's 2016. Time for media conglomerates to adapt, or be allowed to DIE!
Thank you Gene_Starwind for understanding what I said and why. And number 3 Good looking out.
Number 2 : If you cant see the truth of this well you probably dont care much about torrenting anyway. Its painfully obvious to anybody who is into the sharing.
Just pass off the movies on burned CD's like the black market does. I remember my international friend telling me about the software places in Taiwan that sell burned data on compact disk. This was back in the early 2000s. I mean there is now blue ray disks that can hold about 25GB each.
I wish there was a blocking option just for people like number 2,,,, funny I took one of him first thing this morning
