TVShack.net bounced back under a different domain – TVShack.cc. This news might give another reason to call the efforts of US authorities to close down some streaming websites a failure.

Ice-Fail.jpg
Preet Bharara announced after the first raids that criminal copyright violation happens on a massive scale on the Internet, which is believed to result in millions, if not billions of dollars in losses to the national economy. That consequentially turns into lost jobs and difficult life situations for common workers. That’s what he claimed to be a reason for taking action at the end of June. His most remarkable words were promises to those whose business model relates to movie piracy, that their story won’t have a happy ending.

Surprisingly, one of the websites taken down by US authorities seems to be back up under TVShack.cc – a Chinese domain. The website returned at the same time when NinjaVideo dispelled rumors of never coming back.

In doesn’t matter if you support the methods used by ICE (Immigration Customs Enforcement from the US) to raid the websites or not; but you should still ask yourself if those raids had any effect. Just think of it: if such actions appeared to be just a little more than a tiny inconvenience to the file-sharing websites, would this attempt to take them down be a waste? One should admit it is bad already enough that there exist hundreds of services dreaming of taking the place of those which were taken down; but if the efforts didn’t even result in succeeding to take them down, this can just add insult to injury for enforcement.

The US government has already got a so-called “copyright czar”, which announced that the government isn’t planning to tolerate copyright violation. But still, what is the difference so far for attempts to uproot piracy? If you recall, before czar appeared, it was another way: if sites were raided, that was most often it and the services fold. But now, we see take downs turning into something resembling a minor inconvenience for service owners, and nothing else. Looks like copyright enforcers can get the same success if they screamed on users not to infringe, threatening to be irritating, during their speeches. It might have been not so funny, but at least true to their word.

menahunie avatarWOW - Billions of dollars lost to the U.S. Economy? YET NO HARD DOCUMENTED PROOF, Just Allegations and one Expert stated you have to take the Claim by the MPAA with two tons of salt.
Notice how the Federal Government can take very quick action on what it wants?
Take Arizona - People Dying from being killed by Illegals ( People who did not enter the U.S. Legally like millions before them did ). Kidnappings also and tons of drugs.
Yet the Feds can and did file a lawsuit against Arizona which passed a STATE LAW OF THE FEDERAL LAW ALREADY ON THE BOOKS WITHIN ONE MONTH OF IT BEING PASSED. Also the law states as the federal on any Law enforcement can not ask for immigration status unless there is legal reason too; meaning the person asked has to been doing something against the law already.. Read both laws and then make a comment. Thing is these lawsuit are going to cost US MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
NOW the loss to the U.S. ECONOMY IS IN FACT IN THE BILLIONS AND THAT IS PROVABLE.
Yet the Federal Government deems P2P'er more of a threat than Drug runners murdering U.S. citizens and OVER 27,000 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED IN MEXICO AS WELL DUE TO THESE DRUG CARTELS.
The point I am making is the CROOKED Politicians AND THE "FEDERAL GOVERNMENT" will only do as it pleases.
One article goes on to say a person in the "Entertainment" Industry states P2P'ers are killing popcorn business; well I have a "GREEN" suggestion? Thing about all the trees that don't get cut down from the unsold popcorn, soft drink cups and more because allot of People won't go and pay their hard earned money in a theater? They will stay home and eat off their own dishes..
