The Swedish Pirate Party is establishing itself as a "force to be reckoned with" in the European Union. Earlier this year, Christian Engström assumed the first ever seat held in the EU by the up and coming political party, only now to be joined by the first ever woman from that party to hold a seat in the EU, Amelia Andersdotter.
Not only is Miss Andersdotter an infamous politician out to promote the rights of peer to peer file sharing, but she will be the youngest ever member of the Parliament to hold such a seat. Miss Andersdotter, was born August 30, 1987 in Enköping, making her hold the ranks with the EU's top officials, at only 22 years of age.
The Lisbon Treaty, which is now official and in action, is what has allowed the Pirate Party to hold an additional seat, although the Pirate Party was originally against the treaty, claiming it would provide an unfair advantage to certain member nations.
In assuming this position, Miss Andersdotter has claimed previously she would donate a majority of her salary, to various organizations, including Amnesty International (AI), Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions for the Aid of Citizens (ATTAC), the publishing house Ordfront, and the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). We shall soon see if she keeps her post-position promises as expected.
Miss Adersdotter has attended Lund University, in her residing location of Lund, until she had been appointed to the new post. Her studies included Economics and Spanish, in the southern Swedish college. She has said that she will soon leave Lund in order to focus her full time and commitment to the roles which the Pirate Party of Sweden plan to pursue in order to change the EU and their legislation regarding file sharing.
Some see the appointment of Miss Andersdotter as a means of "appeasing" the Swedish Pirate Party, which is growing at such a rapid pace that within a half decade they are expected to be as large as some mainstream political parties.
She has previously stated that her "political ambitions include a thorough revision and change of the copyright legislation, a complete removal of the patent system and a more balanced approach to security, safety and the market versus privacy, where the latter in particular needs to be taken much more into consideration." She is also known for her strong belief in civil rights, especially considering the current digital environment.
For nearly three years, Miss Andersdotter has committed both her time, and resources to take an active part in the development of Ung Pirat, which is the political youth organization associated with Piratpartiet (Pirate Party of Sweden). She has also been in lead development of the party's European political program, along with creating a new found cooperation between Pirate Parties and Young Pirates organizations in Europe and around the world.
Quite an accomplishment and an amazing resume for a woman of only 22 years of age, and many, especially her aspiring activist followers from Sweden, have a complete love affair with the way she has carried herself and the challenges in which she has faced and overcame.
Her appointment further displays to us the rapidly changing world we live in, and she can be an inspiration to young politicians globally whom are seen as progressives which intend to open the flood gates of change to the much needed laws of the current rulers of all the nations on Earth, especially in the regards to copyrights, patents, and the de-criminalization of peer to peer file sharing as a whole.
We here at Extra Torrent again are absolutely proud to see another member of the Swedish Pirate Party get such recognition and appointment, and hope to wish Miss Andersdotter the best in all her trivial pursuits which she may face in the upcoming months and years. The time for revolution is among us, and it appears with the proper leadership, we can win the war against our freedoms.
Only the best can come of Miss Andersdotter, and hopefully her presence within the EU can only influence others including the female members with her strong voice for women's rights, to make changes in the legislation regarding to copyrights. Time will tell, but this is a huge leap for the Pirate Party, further declaring their importance in the role of government. Best of luck again to Miss Andersdotter, and the Pirate Parties of the world. Together we are united and strong.

|The more that people like Miss Andersdotter and Mr. Christian Engström can do to change peoples views in Sweden and Europe as a whole, the better. It puts s legitimate stamp on a legitimate issue. In this digital age it only takes one member state to change the rules, and the others must follow to keep up.|

|European Internet users accused of illicit file-sharing will not be disconnected on the whims of the entertainment industries. After an all night session European Union lawmakers agreed on a compromise text. Those accused will be entitled to a “fair and impartial†procedure, which will include the right to be heard thats good news for some ppl|
