Files will not open

:cry: Hi I am new to this can someone help ,I have downloaded a couple of films and tv shows ie prison break but I have problems opening the files ,I only want to watch on my laptop this is sooo frustrating i have managed to watch some but others tell me to go to evero-.com to download codecs I tried this once and just got porn I deleted it as I dont realy want on my pc is there another way and what is the best codec to have , at the moment I have divx .players I have are divix /media player.hope someone out there can help me .

thank you for your help and quick reply i have this k-lite on cd from my friend so i will install and try i have downloaded prison break s04e06 this afternoon it was just added today and have tested it seems to be working so will watch hopefully later tonight ,again thank you :lol:
