| Posted: Mon Jul 13, 2009 08:27 Author: Greetings. I live in Beijing, China. I LOVE this site, but now China government has started to block this site from being viewed. They are blocking the information from your IP number. I am used to this treatment, and I use proxy servers to get around this blocking. But, because Extratorrent uses that "delay timer" before downloading, proxy servers can't handle that information, and I can't get passed this to the download button. If there was a way to pay for VIP membership I would do that, but all my money is RMB (chinese dollars)...and there is no way I can pay. I know many people are like me in this problem!
What can be my solution? I am using a proxy server now to write this post. Only the "delay timer" prevents the proxy server from getting to the downloads.
Any advice or help would be appreciated by ALL the people in China! ( ...only a bit more than 25% of ALL the people in the World! )

| Posted: Fri Jul 17, 2009 02:53 Author: Thank you for your Proxy server suggestions. But no matter what proxy server a person will use, he will NOT be able to download the torrent file. Because when you click the download button ( if you are not a VIP member ) you get this message," Download button will show after 12 seconds
Please CLICK on following advertisement"
NO proxy server can refresh the page when the timer is finished, so the final click to open the torrent file in your torrent program never shows up. One can not download torrent files using a proxy server.
Perhaps I am doing something wrong?
Also...is a Virtual Proxy Network service something different from the other on-line proxy server webpages that I have been trying to use?
thank you for your help,

To answer the first question, if you register, you will not see the 12 second message once the initial 24-48hours "new" member tag is up, then it will disappear, so register and login. Also, to answer the next question, yes a virtual private network or (vpn) is different from an online proxy.
Use a proxy of your choice, hmmm, even http://proxy.org if that is the only way to access the site, as most safe/reliable VPN's do charge a nominal fee. |

| Posted: Mon Jul 20, 2009 17:36 Author: 12 second timer remains for registered users unless they become VIP members. And as we can not pay in Chinese money to become vip members then we have no choice but to abandon the greatest Torrent site of them all!
Using on-line proxy servers ( no matter which one ) will not work with the 12 second timer.
Thanks for trying to help though...that was certainly nice. and if China unblocks the site we'll be back!
Can anyone recommend another good torrent home for all of us?
