	Posted: Mon Sep 07, 2009 02:40 Author: efresh how do i convert MPEG4 to AVI? i downloaded the files and also downloaded OJOsoft video convertor,which seemed quite easy to use although i didn't know what AVI profile to convert to so i just chose 1!!!! am not exactly an expert in this field shall we say lolwhen i tried playing the file on my media box it wasn't working properly(the sound kept pausing and starting) but if i play it on my computer its fine!!!! sorry i think my previous post about this was in the wrong area of the forum :S

As most consoles, handheld devices, etc, can all read and logically play the mpeg-4 container? Why not convert to dvd if you plan to view in a dvd player which cannot read the file container of mp4?

Why not convert to dvd if you plan to view in a dvd player which cannot read the file container of mp4? thanks for the reply.i have a media player(not particulary expensive!) and usually i download the file and put it on a memory stick,and then plug it in and its fine(sumtimes seem like they fast forward although this is occasional).it says file not suported when it is an MPEG4 file.i have been downloading a few of the BRRIP and they seem to come as MPEG4 so wanted to use it for them. i do actually have a PS3 but didnt know if/or how to play films on it.i wouldn't watch films on my computer think it would spoil the film.so much better on a big screen!!!

	Posted: Tue Dec 01, 2009 16:27 Author: msmsm Obs i have another take on this subject My old internet machine ( AMD2400+ 1Gb ram 9600 pro AGP ) i gave to my mother ( who has hand eye co-ordination issue's ) so teaching her to use mouse was a problem. All my AVI video files that i get, i download to her hard drive so she can watch the using VLC on her 42" LCD TV. The Quality is pretty good as well ( if you download from ET or other reliable sources ) + it saves me the time and effort to convert these files to DVD, but also saves having to store DVD disks and the age old problem of ---- where did i put that disk!!!!! issue. Just my 2 cents worth.
