|  Posted: Wed Dec 02, 2009 14:42  Hi im new to downloading movies... Yesterday i downloaded UTorrent so that i can download movies etc... so i started to download a movie 800MB and it was only downloading at 20kB/s - 50kB/s... which took about 6 hrs or so..  i am using normal broadband. Is this right as i thought it was much quicker ? Thanks | |

There are two ways……
1. It depends on the seeds and peers that torrent contains.
2. The Speed that your normal broadband carry.
About the Seeds and peers of the torrent…..If a torrent is well seeded and healthy, then u will get almost as much speed as your broadband can carry….but if the torrent is not healthy and low on seeds, then it wont be possible for you to download it with your full speed. It would b slow then. U have mentioned that u saw your average download speed at 30 KB/s. This also depends on the seeds and peers of the torrent. The thing is very simple….if the torrent u have downloaded is well seeded and healthy then the problem is your broadband. U have been downloading that torrent at the speed upto 50 Kb/s ( as u have mentioned ) so thatz obvious that u can get it completed in 6hrs and more only…depending on how much your downloading speed vary. But if the torrent is low on seeds then u can download other torrents that r well seeded, with your full speed.
It would b good to figure out if u would have a speed test and post the report in the forum.U can do a speed test of your broadband here---

| Posted: Tue Mar 23, 2010 18:50 Author: hi since i signe up on extra torrent , i cant rember how long it is but its quite a hile , the thing is i have tryied to download a few movies and got speeds around 10kb/s to 20kb/s so i dont bother now a few weeks ago i tryie again and got 600kb/s this happened about 4times , but this was some of the things that happened when i download it say sorry this torrent is not from this site , lol then i check my u,torrent its started ok but the speed is not good 10kb/s the down at the bottom its saying offline time out, invalid url,requested download is not autherised with this tracker, etc so it goes on my isp is good 7meg and all the settings is done on u,torrent by the guidelines on extratorrent i dont know whats going on , i asked for help for this problem but the help i got did not do me any good iam a silver sufer i can do a lot on the computer and as for as i know every thing is fine on my computer as i had a few younger guys check it out and said my settings or fine ok give me some help on this problem please . | |
