problems uploading my first torrent
Tue Nov 12, 2013 14:37
I have 2 problems.
the first: making the torrent:
when I added the trackers on the 'make a torrent' tutorial, it said there was a problem with the trackers and did I want to continue without adding them.
so I had a look around, and found more trackers in a thread on this board, added them, and created the torrent.
when I checked the trackers were working,
the rarbg tracker says: tracker reply has no peers field.
the exodus tracker says: offline, timed out.
the istole tracker says: connection timed out.
is that normal? will the torrent work?
and the second problem: uploading the torrent.
on the torrent upload page, at the bottom of the form where you
'enter text from left picture here'
I have no picture, just 2 boxes with X's inside. I've refreshed the page, deleted my cookies and temp files, and I can't get the pictures to show up.
I did try and upload by leaving the box blank (just in case) but it says, Incorrect captcha text!
what can I do?
oh, non related, but thought i'd mention it. lots of links on the forum are not working, it says my provider is blocking them.
I can, eventually, get on the pages where the links should lead, but I have to search the forum for them, guessing the page by the title in the link.
is that happening to everyone?
Try these trackers.. these all are good

Like paradox write, there are many public tracker to chose.
Just small little addition :
ET only allowed 15 tracker at most, some site only allowed 8 trackers. More trackers doesn't mean more seeders because we also have DHT and PEX on.
So for tracker, base on my own experience, 5 to 7 already the good amount.
Bellow are working tracker that i curently use, just copy paste it to your client.
Don't forget to add a space between tracker.
This is how I do :
The right way (add a space line between tracker) :
The wrong way (did not add a space line between tracker)
After made one torrent, this trackers list will automatically saved to your utorrent client.
Sometimes trackers are offline, that's when you get that message saying offline etc. It's ok since you have other tracker aswell and also DHT and PEX on as default.
For uploading page and captcha problem, let me know what browser you using (Internet explorer, Mozila firefox, Opera, Safari for mac etc) and are there any add on like "noscript" installed on your browser or not, Just in case.
For temporary solution, try what silpha said bellow.
If you have any trouble, feel free to pm me anytime.
2nd problem:- delete ur cookies.then refresh the page.the problem will be solved...

thanks for all your help, i'll save that list of trackers now.
I've deleted temp files and cookies and it doesn't clear the problem with the captcha, and neither does 'right click>show picture' do anything.
i'm using IE10, update version 10.0.10.
just had to google 'noscript' lol (sorry, did explain, TOTAL NOOB lol) would that apply in this case? isn't it just chrome/Mozilla?
I don't tend to add anything to my browser, but it is set up for auto updates, so who knows what it installs.
I have had issues with Silverlight though (think its needed to watch sky go) in IE, and started watching it in chrome. (wiki mentions noscript blocking Silverlight) so maybe we're heading in the right direction in finding the problem.
do I need java to read the captcha? (yes, its a serious question, lol, I have no idea what java does!! lol) I think my java may well need updating, I tend to click 'later' when it pops up.
just tried to open the torrent upload page in chrome and Mozilla, and same thing, broken image links. so its not just an IE problem.
I've been reading messages on the forum, and found a thread
'Cant View Images of DDR Torrents' (can't copy the link in, sorry)
it basically says that the ISP is blocking stuff.
I wondered if this might be the problem??
I can see all other images though, however, when I click on links (some links) within the forum, the pages are blocked by my ISP. I have to search for the page manually.
the solution in that thread is quite a biggy, changing settings, and if I can avoid doing so, i'd rather not lol
again, thanks (x3) for your patience.
hope you/your all have/having/had a great day
