What is Binary Code?

Binary code is the system of representing text or computer processor instructions by the use of the binary number system's two-binary digits "0" and "1". A binary string of eight digits (bits), for example, can represent any of 256 possible values and can correspond to a variety of different symbols, letters or instructions. In 8-bit ASCII code the lowercase a is represented by the bit string 01100001.
In computing and telecommunication, binary code is used for any of a variety of methods of encoding data, such as character strings, into bit strings. Those methods may be fixed-width or variable-width.
In a fixed-width binary code, each letter, digit, or other character, is represented by a bit string of the same length; that bit string, interpreted as a binary number, is usually displayed in code tables in octal, decimal or hexadecimal notation.
There are many character sets and many character encodings for them.
A bit string, interpreted as a binary number, can be translated into a decimal number."

| Posted: Fri Jan 08, 2010 20:20 Author:  Basically to memorize the binary code alphabet it is easiest to keep a few things in mind. First it is 8 digits. Second the first 3 digits represent upper/lowercase 010 for upper case 011 for lowercase the last 5 digits are counted in numerical order(counting numbers with 0&1 only) for each letter. 1 for a, 10 for b, 11 for c, 100 for d, 101 for e, 110 for f, 111 for g, and so on. so a "D" would be "010" for the first 3(since its capital) and ends with "100" the remaining digits in the middle will be 0's so the 8 digit code for D is 01000100("010"00"100") | |

same concept as alphabet except this begins with 0011. the last four digits start at 0000 for 0 0001 for 1 0010 for 2 and up the list to 1001 for 9
Probably the most basic commands are load and store
Most times a binary code of 00111010 is for the load command as a binary code of 00110010 is for the store command (notice the single number difference).
Two other basic commands are add and subtract
Most times a binary code of 11000110 is for the add and a binary code of 11010110 is for subtract. | |
