If reinstalling the graphics doesn't fix the problem, try reinstalling the latest version of DirectX http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36805
To check to see if you've got the latest version ...
IN Windows 7 or Windows Vista
Click the Start button, type dxdiag in the search box, and then press Enter.
IN Windows XP
Click the Start button, then click Run. Type dxdiag in the Run box, and then press Enter.
If that doesnt work, change video hardware acceleration
TO CHANGE VIDEO HARDWARE ACCELERATION
Select Category in the View by drop-down menu, and then click Appearance and Personalization.
Change disP settings
Go to the Monitor tab. under Colours click True Colour -32 bit- and choose High Color -16 bit-
Screen should go blank
When the screen reappears, choose Yes within 15 seconds.
Go to Advanced settings
Go to Troubleshoot tab, choose Change settings
Slide slider one or more units to the left, choose OK. Sliding the slider fully to the left will disable hardware acceleration
Screen will go blank
Choose X to close all windows
