Thanks for all your effort here 1337. What a great and informative read. This is a subject which has fascinated me for some time now - particularly now as the web grows larger exponentially every day and the companies who, by and large, shape the direction that it heads in grow even more powerful with it.
Some years ago I read a book called 'When Corporations Rule the World' which dealt with a future time when international corporations and not governments called the shots in world affairs.
Interesting too that pretty much noboday stands up to China on anything at any level. Human rights - global warming - pollution - etc (I am NOT anti Chinese).
I think we may have a nice game of chess developing here and it will be interesting to see what develops.
