Thank you very much for this site. Over the past several days that I have been a member, I have experienced not only really great torrents but very helpful and friendly people.

I do have one suggestion. It would help if the torrent writing changed colors once I have opened a torrent. This would help to see which torrents I have already downloaded.

I also agree with the previous suggestion about adding a date on the search screen for when the torrent was uploaded. When I do a search for an uploader, page 1 always seems the same. If page 1 had the most current torrents with the upload date, it would be very helpful.

Thank you again for all the hard work you team has done with this site. It is wonderful.

good but difficult one...not every one's language is english but it doesnt mean no one will understand short forms...infact sometimes it is easier to read the short forms than the full word...but a good idea to debate about

i have a Question to start with in new forum...
usually we get some users who are banned or blocked by mods..some of them are unfairly blocked or banned.. the second way for them to get in touch with us other than emailing admin is by accessing the forum which was the practice earlier with old forum ...
now with new forum accessed by same site address...if some one get blocked and for some reason he/she is unable to send mail to admin...how can he access forum???
how can he seek help or clarification about his/her ban case??

The new sub categories i would suggest are:
NDS Roms and Wii Games, you could also add a xbox 360 section as i think xbox games dont play on 360 tho i dont have 1 so not sure

So - NDS Roms + Wii Games plus Xbox 360 categorie if xbox games dont play on Xbox 360 :)

I just had some thoughts...

1]can it be possible to allow users upload image along with the torrent files?Currently we have to link an image as the poster but many images are not easily available and also the image hosting sites often deletes inactive account or after a certain bandwidth limit.

2]Also being a music lover,I think it will be great if a radio can be added to the site.

3]Is it possible to add a low-bandwidth version so that users with dial-up connection can load the site faster?
Just thought it will help ET...

just wondering why the movie-categories have been changed from DVD/BluRay to the codecs. I for one am specifically looking for BluRay's and if I may add particularly for high def's (1080p), because I am watching my movies on a 50" 1080p via a WDTV HD media player - only. There isn't even a subcategory anymore if you 'Browse torrents'/'Movies Torrents'.

So, my suggestion would be not only to bring back the BluRay category, but to even bring subcategories of 720 and 1080 and 'other' or 'less' (although bringing the resolution down below DVD if using a BluRay source is missing the point somehow IMO).

It could be the 'absolutely high quality' corner. I am sure there are more people out there like me who don't mind 4-6gig files for the right quality and real high viewing pleasure. ET has already some very good uploaders/encoders specialising in 1080p like BrickTop and the ps3-team (a.o.).

Build on that and give people like us a choice too :).

Hi.

Well since you're specifically looking for BluRay's, then I would assume you have certain titles which you've picked out then yes?

Well that's why we have our fancy search bar. Try it.

as far as codecs go, you can have a DvDScR (DvD Screener) which is encoded in XviD by someone, for example ExtraScene (XviD is our trademark) Then have the same release done by say oh Release-Lounge (and they'd do H264). So they'd be in different areas. The thing is, they'd be from the SAME SOURCE. So the purpose of dividing up by codecs is as follows:

People who typically look for "DvDRiPs" who will play .avi's on their standalones, or will use convertx for example to burn to DvD, would want to look in the XviD category of the featured area more often than not.

Those whom can play matroska (.mkv) containers with relative ease, or .mp4, or would play the files on their 360 or Ps3, would go for the h264/x264 area. The majority of "BluRay Rips" which are done are h264/x264.

That's not always the case however, as I said, you could have a DvD Screener done in both codecs, and be from a DvD Source. So it's totally up to what you're looking for.

Regardless, alot of people will grab an x264 mp4 BrRiP and they'll use convertxtodvd to convert and burn it (losing a little bit of quality) that way they can play it on their older DvD Players or even an older console. Alot with slower PC's, or older monitors, will also see no difference in watching a 1080p movie so they don't mind either what they grab.

That's why we made the dividing codec categories. It's the most proper. Also you can find what you're looking for, and choose between codecs rather than finding X264 DvDRiPs or DvDScreens inside the old featured "DvD Area" when technically it wasn't a DvD. So now everything is proper.

Again search feature works great here on ET, unlike alot of those garbage torrent sites out there. Try it :)

OBSCENE

hi BlueLady, thank you very much for your response.

It takes much more to frustrate me, sorry if it was understood that way but English is not my first language and I've might chosen the wrong words here and there. I just thought of a way to make it easier for people (like me) to find what they are looking for - not all selfishly though, but with the intention too to help making ET even better and to give something back by doing so.

Not everyone coming here is a Pro and familiar with the differentiation of codecs, but I would think everyone knows the difference between a DVD and a BluRay disc (surely not exactly what it is and how it works and this should not be necessary to come here IMO). But at least has heard of it or seen it already as this are the common terms used by the industry and every retailer in the world for these products. You cannot open a news paper or journal or go through a supermarket or a Mall, watch TV or just walk your dog and not to stumble upon those terms in big advertisements, specially these days. So from a marketing and normal consumer point of view: taking familiar terms away which are understood by everyone and which for everyone clearly identify products cannot be helpful and certainly does not alleviates confusion (other than for Pro's), but guarantied causes it and cannot be considered consumer/user-friendly.

In addition, the codec does not necessarily implicate the source - although it has become the favourite choice among encoders to use h264 for BluRay. But make no mistake, this is only and because as this is the clearly superior codec at the time and therefore most likely the future for encoding/ripping in general. More and more encoders are using it right now for all of their encodes, not only BluRay's. First ones you can already see here, listed in H264 but being a DVDRip (e.g. The Marine 2 2009 DVDRip H264 Wrath; Family Guy Something Something Something Dark Side DVDRip H264 Wrath; 12 Rounds ResourceRG H264 NiKoN; Where The Wild Things Are 2009 DVDScr H264 AAC-SecretMyth (Kingdom-Release)) which I found not looking very hard. And if I am not mistaken, you even can find first cam's h264 coded. This is the present reality and gives an inkling of the - near - future. My apology, but your reasons are clearly disproven by facts and will shortly be obsolete.
And as everything evolves I am sure there will come new and even better codecs in the future. What stays are terms like cassette or MC, CD, DVD, BluRay....
I remember reading a post from Obscene somewhere where he also stated the 'future is BluRay' and it's not only me who thinks that's right. All I am suggesting is: prepare for it - or even better be a part of it.

Moving on to a more quality focused view: Using the h264 codec und bringing - whichever - source down to 288 vertical lines or even below - to me kinda contradicts the whole idea behind BluRay and HD and more important does not delivers what a feature tagged 'BluRayRip' appears to promise, one could say it is even misleading. Undeniably it will be an outstanding quality for a 15" monitor, becoming merely an ordinary viewing pleasure on a bigger screen but almost not watchable above 38".

To end: I even could see none of the above or present categories, but divisions (too?) for different resolutions/qualities/devices, e.g. called after the device/appliance it would be ideal for - doesn't matter what the source or codec. What for anyway? I guess technicalities would exclude Cam's, DVD's etc. automatically from the higher resolutions and it might encourage encoders to go for higher quality too. I do not know if a BDrip could be burned and watched on a DVD player or Xbox etc., I don't have any of those. But people who watch on their computer shouldn't have any problems, and people whom burn - I think this could be easily solved if needed.

Just some thoughts. And.....NO, I am not frustrated nor is this intended to frustrate you or others.
Thank you for your patience.
