Instructions for obtaining mp3 (lossy) from Audio CD and Lossless-formats
This guide is intended primarily for new users who desire to convert mp3 music without compression, present either on CD or stored on your computer, and packaged in an exotic format "Lossless". I should mention that there is sufficient as a program-ripper, extract audio from physical media, and programs that convert Lossless to mp3. Consider all of them are not possible, my job - only recommend the most simple and convenient way, provided, in fact, lower. So here you go.
Difference Between Lossy And Lossless Formats
Lossy formats are those which loose some quality during encoding resulting in loss of reply gain increase in Treble and decrease in Bass.Mp3 is one of the Lossy Formats even if the the audio is encoded at CBR 320 Kbps(78% compression of orignal WAVE file at 1411 Kbps).
Lossless formats are those which dont loose any quality in the process of encoding for example if you encode audio in lossless format and write it back to a cd the cd you created will be the clone of the orignal cd from which the audio was ripped maintaining full 1411 Kbps(compression ranges from 27% to 42% in some cases.Popular Lossless formats are .FLAC(Free Lossless audio Codec), .APE(Monkeys Audio), .M4A(Apple Lossless Codec)
Technical information:
[*] Quality Target Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
VBR files are made up from 100's of small audio chunks, called frames. Whilst encoding VBR, the encoder decides which bit rate to use for each frame. Bit rates can drop down to lower values when it is warranted (if there is not much sound complexity) and switch up to a higher bit rate when required. VBR files should be used when encoding unless there is a specific reason not to,
[*]Average Bit Rate (ABR) a little like VBR except constraints are placed on Bit Rate so that over time it averages out to the desired value,
[*]Constant Bit Rate (CBR) a method of coding the original audio stream, when all the blocks (frames) are encoded with the same resulting bit rate. In other words, the bitrate on the entire length of the encoded data remains unchanged.
[*]
Free Formatextends the constant bit rate to much higher values (such as 640 kbps), has limited player support.
NOTE
Encoding specifies how much effort goes into compression, this mode is applicable to all types of encoding.
Part 1: mp3 from Audio CD
EAC(Exact Audio Copy) Is best audio ripper out there so we will go by that
We assume by default that the program you have installed and configured properly , and go directly to the process of extracting audio tracks. Insert the disc into the drive. After connecting to the database freedb in the program window a list of tracks. Select all tracks or only the necessary, and then from the Action menu, click the Advanced tab Copy Selected Tracks -> Compressed, that is equivalent to pressing the key combination Shift + F5 or click on the icon MP3 on the left vertical toolbar. Program inquire into what folder you want to save the resulting MP3-files. If your drive is not in the database, to write the song titles alone (highlight track - press F2).
Part 2: The conversion from Lossless-formats (flac, ape, wv)
Often, there is a need to convert music from some unusual Lossless-friendly formats to mp3. I'll show you how to do it most simply and accurately.Consider several options for conversion, but what exactly will be the most preferable - let everyone decide on their own.
As we know (and if anyone else knows it's time to fix this annoying omission), there are 2 types of ripping - it is (in alphabetical order) - the image (image +. Cue) and tracks rip (tracks +. Cue). We will not discuss what is best and what is worse, our task - to understand how it Lossless- converts to mp3.
db PowerAmp is best so we take that-
Highlight tracks, call from the shortcut menu, and click Convert to. The program will ask you to select the conversion options and specify the path to save the resulting file.
Well Thats All Folks hope It Helps ya All.
