prob with downloading torrents from ET, IO error?

Hi ETianer,

since a while now that I have problems opening the torrent file when downloaded from ET. I keep getting this message:




this happens with all ET torrents and only with ET-torrents.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

thx don, but I don't think is a client prob as other torrents are working fine. For example, if a torrent is uploaded here and on another site, the one from ET gets the message, the other one not.

There is more to it, but at the moment I rather would not say. Maybe someone can help without that I have to tell more - I am a little paranoid if it comes to personal infos about criminal activities

I am using ff. But I think you could be on to something. Why did you say firefox?

I just tried downloading ET torrent on a different computer, also with Firefox (same version 3.6.3) and it is working. Funny thing is, while the working version of 3.6.3 shows (c)1998-2009, the not working version 3.6.3 shows (c)1998-2010 - obviously different versions, got automatically updated. Both comp are running Win7 (same ET-version and 3-comp licence McAfee (therefore also same version, simultaneously updated)

So, if I am lucky it might just be a little set-up thing in Firefox? But what could it be? Where to look, how to find it?

edit: as said earlier, this is only with ET-torrents - if same torrent (same hash) is downloaded from another site it works on both comp.

Admin i think there may be something going on
Spyware i go it a little paid in the ass from here today and it wasn't from apps or games etc..

i noticed when visiting site kis was going nuts on network attacks only on this site

after i scanned pc with malewarbyts i picked up 9 spywares i removed them

file name is Poy exe name is snub.exe
digital signatures look real but fake

names are

Google updates
location India
running process in task manger name is
Windows Updater
^ like i said fake names there not from windows
there fake attachment to web browser

AV's may have not picked them up yet
but to the test to see if you are infected with the it

do this
eg.. if using firfox and Google search engine do a any search with a simple keyword
let just say extratorrent if result dont show and you bs site with a lot of theses ????

next step try ie or flock browsers with Google engine but NOT with chrome browser
(but to tell you the truth ie sucks it is the world wort browser)

again search for extratorrent if you notice search results come up as normal on those other browsers then that means ff is infected what i mean by normal
result et will be right in front of you as it should be

please all dont get paranoid that et may be the reason for this i only say this because i noticed it happen when i was on et and kis kept going nuts
this could be a attack on ff and some of goggles engines

removing browsers and reinstalling them wont help result
im about to finish reformatting to see if anything changes

BUT LIKE I SAID THIS MAY NOT BE BECAUSE OF ET IT COULD BE THAT THE BROWSERS ARE BEING TARGETED WITH SPYWARE

i may be getting these because of my location
were they have restricted certain website i just finished reformat
and save bookmark but my search results remain the same

bookmarks work fine but when searching for et or other site they are hard to find if any i cant find them at all with ff and chrome unless i use bookmarks

but as another suggestion if it is spyware that it targeting ff it may have not
reach your locations thats if this is the case

will look into it a bit more
