How to setup your system for a fast recovery

This is the way I setup my PC for fast recovery.

1. I do a slow format on my C: drive it’s the best way to make sure that I will delete most of all infection.
2. Install your preferred O.S.
3. Install all drivers your system need.
4. Install all of your software that you will be using.
5. Do all update “ system and software “.
6. Install Symantec Norton Ghost, make sure that you have the recovery disk for ghost
7. Now you are ready to make the image, do a full backup of your C: drive, I use a old 70 Gig hard drive to store the image
8. Uninstall Norton Ghost because at this point you don’t want to make any more backup.
9. Remove the storage drive or change the backup files attribute to read only.
10. You are done!

All this should take about 4 to 8 hours depending on what you are installing.

Now if ever you get infected or your system isn’t working well there is only two simple thing to do to bring it back to the first day you install it.

1. Backup all data that you want to preserve “ txt, jpeg….”
2. Reboot your pc with your Norton Ghost recovery disk in the drive and when ask the recovery files, point the image that you created and make a complete restore.

That’s all and you will recover everything in 20 minutes
It will bring back your pc in the same state of the day you created the image.
